The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) has announced that major National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) changes will take effect in the first quarter of 2025. The NMFTA is implementing a phased approach, with the first changes coming in 2025. Here's a summary: 1. Standardized density scale for LTL freight with no handling, stowability, and liability issues. 2. Unique identifiers for freight with special handling, stowability, or liability needs. 3.
