👍 Kontron Public Transport Arce has been awarded the contract for the Replacement of the Validation Equipment of several stations of Metro de Madrid for a total amount of 3,8 Mio EUR, intended for the manufacture and installation of 129 new E4.0 fare gates equipment. This contract joins those previously obtained by Kontron, intended for the supply of 253 machines for the sale of Transport Tickets (type Metta E4.0). These new generation equipment, whose innovative design is owned by Metro de Madrid, will be manufactured in Spain to continue evolving and modernizing the facilities of this public transport. 🚇 This project arises to give continuity to the actions started by Metro in Gran Via station under the “Estacion 4.0” conceptual model. The model to follow is the integration of new technologies of 4.0 Industry with innovative designs, resulting in systems whose features are optimized and their use facilitated. 🎫 This operation seeks the improvement of accessibility and other types of improvements in network operation. In this way, the new toll systems offer the possibility of closing the transport network since they allow control (configurable) both at the entrance and at the exit. This feature will make it possible to configure a wide variety of diversified accesses based on different parameters such as the route, the time, etc. The equipment will allow the reading of both the current TTP card and EMV credit cards formed from the project currently underway to allow direct validation with this type of cards.
