Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. As a speaker in 2023, I had the opportunity to discuss the healthcare work environment. It was enlightening to learn that value in healthcare from the staff perspective isn't just about process or volume, but achieving meaningful outcomes for patients. The healthcare work environment extends beyond just physical location, encompassing policies and other crucial elements. Additionally, poor workplace practices in healthcare can be very costly. Luckily, there is an updated practical manifesto to improve health and safety in healthcare. Let's work together to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all healthcare professionals. #healthcare #safety #workplace #healthandsafety #manifesto

On- and near-site clinics may seem like a good idea for employers who want to offer convenient and accessible health care to their employees. However, these models have some drawbacks that may outweigh their benefits. Here are some reasons why on- and near-site clinics miss the mark for most employers: • They require a large upfront investment and ongoing maintenance costs. • They may not be able to handle complex or specialized care needs, resulting in referrals and higher costs. • They do not address the needs of the hybrid workforce, creating barriers to access. • They may not improve employee health outcomes or satisfaction, as they do not address the social and environmental factors that affect health. Instead of on- and near-site clinics, employers should consider other options to provide more comprehensive, personalized, and holistic care for their employees, such as home-based primary care. This model can lower costs, improve quality, and increase engagement while respecting employee privacy and autonomy. #HR #employeeengagement #employeebenefits #Healthcare #Wellness #tectonichealth

Primary care is critical to your employee health benefits package, but traditional primary care does not fit the needs of the modern employee. You might want to consider a home-based primary care mode that brings health care services to employees in their homes. Here are some reasons this model can improve employee satisfaction: home-based primary care… • Allows patients to receive care in a familiar and comfortable environment, reducing stress and anxiety. • Enables patients to have more personalized and holistic care, addressing not only their medical needs, but also their social and environmental factors that affect their health. • Fosters stronger relationships and trust between patients and providers, leading to better communication and adherence. • Reduces the need for transportation, travel time, and waiting time, making care more convenient and accessible. Home-based primary care benefits patients and employers, as it can reduce costs and improve outcomes.
