HUGE WIN: Rep. Nydia Velázquez has introduced a resolution calling to end the colonialist Monroe Doctrine and create a "New Good Neighbor" policy towards Latin America based on cooperation and non-interference. For years, we've been pushing for an end to U.S. domination in Latin America & the Caribbean. Now, a progressive foreign policy for the Americas is finally in sight. The people will lead the way to peace & justice. 💗✊ https://buff.ly/3toW9o5

Ordo Ab Chao: Bringing Order Out of Chaos - The Need for a Strong Union of States to Reaffirm America's Sovereignty Amidst mounting challenges, America stands at a pivotal moment. A unified federation of states is crucial to restore national stability and uphold core values. Article V of the Constitution offers a constitutional path for states to transcend partisan divides, enacting amendments that realign governance in support of collective American interests. This state-driven process goes beyond party lines, fostering unity to safeguard the nation's sovereignty. By rekindling founding principles and uniting around common ideals, America can navigate from chaos towards a new era of order and prosperity.

📣 Recently published! Why do people say "no" to a peace agreement? Read this study by Dr. Juliana Tappe Ortiz and Julian Arevalo to learn how the design and content of Yes-and No-campaigns contribute to the outcomes of peace referendums. 🔗https://lnkd.in/d7vQ7_4P 🌎 Case studies: Northern Ireland and Colombia Key findings: 🔍 Scholarly attention needs to be refocused on campaign design and content rather than on voters' personal reasons. 🔍 No-campaigns benefit from a coherent campaign design and a unified message, allowing simple narratives. 🔍 Uncoordinated Yes-campaigns focusing on multiple advantages to the peace agreement struggle to convince voters. 🔍 Civil society support for Yes-campaigns can make it hard for even well-designed and unified No-campaigns.

On this day in history 06/09/24. In 1815 at the of the Congress of Vienna, a new European political situation was set. The Congress of Vienna of 1814–1815 was a series of international diplomatic meetings to discuss and agree upon a possible new layout of the European political and constitutional order after the downfall of the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Participants were representatives of all European powers and other stakeholders. The Congress was chaired by Austrian statesman Klemens von Metternich, and was held in Vienna from September 1814 to June 1815. The objective of the Congress was to provide a long-term peace plan for Europe by settling critical issues arising from the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars through negotiation. The goal was not simply to restore old boundaries, but to resize the main powers so they could balance each other and remain at peace, being at the same time shepherds for the smaller powers. More generally, conservative leaders like Metternich also sought to restrain or eliminate republican, liberal, and revolutionary movements which, from their point of view, had upended the constitutional order of the European ancien régime. Some historians have criticised the outcomes of the Congress for causing the subsequent suppression of national, democratic, and liberal movements, and it has been seen as a reactionary settlement for the benefit of traditional monarchs. Others have praised the Congress for protecting Europe from large and widespread wars for almost a century. Now you know.
