A fresh look at the climate emergency through the twin lenses of science and history

Fancy discussing moisture and buildings in Portugal? The next International Conference on Moisture in Buildings (ICMB25) will be hosted in Guimarães by the University of Minho on the 23-24 October 2025. The IMCBs are always exciting events, because they give practitioners and academia a rare and much-needed opportunity to compare ideas, break down silos, and as a result plan more effective research.  You can find out more here: https://lnkd.in/dByBd5tk A quick heads-up: if you'd like to present your own work, THE DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS IS THE END OF THIS MONTH (30th November 2024). You can find this and other key dates on the website. For me, it's especially important for practical field work to be shown and field observations discussed, so that our theories around moisture are not too lab-based. Similarly, it's vital that researchers are reminded about what we can learn from the historic built environment... which is, of course, A LOT. So if you're a professional working in this field and can get to Guimarães next year, I do hope you'll consider putting in an abstract to share your work and your thoughts with an international audience, who are certain to be interested!
