Ads like this suggest Apple’s privacy protection technology is the only thing preventing the world from accessing your most personal health information. However, it falls short of taking any responsibility for creating vulnerability by collecting, storing, and using your data in the first place. Striving for excellence means demanding more, especially when it comes to your digital footprint and just because a service is advanced doesn't excuse compromises on your privacy. Your data is not a commodity, and your permission is non-negotiable. If companies like Apple are truly dedicated to “helping” keep user information private, we suggest a revision of their notoriously verbose privacy policies: “The data Apple collects about you is outlined in its privacy policy, which runs to about 4,000 words [...and…] multiple privacy guides for its individual products and apps [...] in total they hit around 70,000 words.” * At the Web3 ID Coalition, our commitment to a decentralized future empowers individuals for economic opportunity, freedom, and security. The Web3 ID Coalition addresses critical issues like Big Tech's control, identity theft, and more. Join us as we advocate for policies that empower individuals and businesses in the Web3 transition. What steps should Apple take today to safeguard user privacy protection? #NotFarEnough #OwnYourData #DataPrivacy #DigitalIdentity *https://lnkd.in/gDkyETxF

The article discusses the potential for governments to spy on individuals through smartphone push notifications, as confirmed by Apple and Google. U.S. Senator Ron Wyden raised concerns about foreign governments requesting push notification data from these companies. Despite initial restrictions on disclosing information, Apple and Google have decided to update their transparency policies after the issue became public. The data sent via push notifications, which can contain personal or sensitive information, is accessible to Apple and Google, and thus can be provided to governments upon request. The article suggests considering disabling push notifications for privacy concerns.

This is not creepy at all ..... watch this video ⬇ Apple's new ads show how creepy it is when you're browsing the web and being tracked by other companies. They made an interesting video with security cameras following people around that turn into birds, then explode when someone switches to Safari. It's a creative way to show how Safari blocks trackers and keeps a user's information private, unlike some other browsers. This campaign of ads aims to showcase how Safari protects user privacy by blocking trackers, masking IP addresses, and controlling location data sharing, while other browsers allow tracking and data collection. "Apple’s aim is to remind folks of the privacy protections built into Safari – it was the first web browser to debut a “Private Browsing” experience in 2005, and since then that has been bolstered and is now locked behind Face ID, Touch ID, or a Passcode. Safari also blocks cross-site tracking, strips unnecessary trackers from links, and shades location data. Going a step further, Apple deploys machine learning to determine which sites might be tracking you under a feature dubbed “Intelligent Tracking Prevention.” When it spots a site tracking you, generally in the same vein as a cookie, Safari stops it and removes the tracker. You can see it working in real-time in the Safari Privacy Report on your device, which lists the sites by the number of trackers, the most common ones, and how many have been blocked or stopped." https://lnkd.in/et2PJV84 #privacy #security #cybersecurity #surveillance #ipaddress #trackers #cookies #locationdata #privacybydesign #browsing #securitycameras #datacollection #datasharing #ads #ai #llms #ml #genai
