It’s hard finding the right field agency, here are some tips that I have learnt in time. Problem 1: Well Said rather than Well Done! I have come to learn that in service businesses it’s mostly about smoke and mirrors. It’s mostly a case of well said, rather than well done. Clients often appoint service providers based on the written proposal rather than fact checking data. Selecting the right service provider for field solutions often is based on a tender process, how well the team package their offer and how well they present. These are the wrong metrics and mostly end up badly, at least for the client. The Solution: Do your due diligence! Not in the boardroom where your service provider more than likely provides you contact details of people who they enjoy relationships with. No. Do it at store level. Speak to managers. Identify your potential partners, identify their customers, speak to the staff on the ground and ask the store managers who has the best representation. Mostly happy staff deliver the best results, this is where most of your efforts should be directed. Problem 2: Give me something unique and I want results! A second challenge I have found is that is that customers always want something different, something unique, something new. But then you get confined by a very rigid set of rules. The result is an execution that is neither new or unique = unhappy customer! Similarly, customers appoint an agency based on their unique offer but then once onboarded they tell their agency what and when to do, how to do it and then they get upset when the results don’t happen. The Solution: If you choose the right partner, you should let them steer and guide your field execution. Focus on your result, not how, what and when to do things. Let them derive the plan. Whilst the customer is always king, they are not always right. This is a good example of that. At Leegra the clients with the worst results in field are mostly the ones who want to be back seat drivers. By contrast if you dictate every step we make only you can be accountable for the outcome we achieve. If you need to do narrate what needs to be done you have the wrong partner for your business. This week's re STRUCTUR ing article highlighted the many "Faces of Workplace". This SMMA project for Entrada Therapeutics is a great example. The team created a high-quality workplace experience for both the technical and non-technical workers. The strategy was to respect the same workplace criteria while still maintaining the safety boundaries and infrastructure needed for highly technical space. #reSTRUCTURing #workplacedesign

Just finished a great #subregioneurope team meeting in beautiful Colmar. As General Manager, I find the midpoint of the year critical to take stock and prepare for what’s next. Energy levels are just right: we’re excited by what we can achieve before Q2 closes; Spring has finally sprung, and we know that a well-deserved summer break is coming. This year, we decided to focus on operational robustness as the #redthread of the meeting. When teams are clear about the “𝐰𝐡𝐲” (serving patients) and the “𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭” (access to innovative medicines), the “𝐡𝐨𝐰” will make a huge difference. How can we get BeiGene’s innovative #medicines to #patients in a broader, faster, and more affordable way across our Region?   It was the perfect time to: ✳ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦’𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬: we can only prepare for what’s next when we’re fully aware of what we did so far; we can learn from the less positive outcomes and replicate what we excelled at; ✳ 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭: although objectives are not static, they are our performance compass. Are we meeting our ambitions? Can we do more? Or differently? ✳ 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩: what’s standing between our targets and the current status? Do we need additional skills or enhancement of capabilities? ✳ 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫: each team member is the CEO of his or her role. We all know the destination and the direction of travel.
