André Dekker is a professor of Clinical Data Science and board certified Medical Physicist at the Maastricht University, Maastricht UMC+ and Maastro Clinic, Maastricht, The Netherlands. As healthcare innovation rapidly evolves, the use of vocal biomarkers for health monitoring is gaining scientific support. Research by the Wales Institute for Digital Information (WIDI) — a collaborative effort involving the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, University of South Wales, and Digital Health and Care Wales — highlights voice technology's potential in revolutionizing early detection and treatment, especially for respiratory health. This initiative, studying the use of AI to analyze vocal patterns as a means to detect early signs of health issues, could significantly reduce the strain on the UK's National Health Service by preventing or mitigating chronic health issues. At Sonde Health, we're pioneering this vocal biomarker technology to advance mental and respiratory health understanding.
