This April is National Stress Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness of how prevalent stress is to our daily lives, and highlights how many people struggle. Here's a quick Q&A about stress and seeking help, as part of our support for this important awareness campaign: ❓ What is stress? Stress is a natural psychological and physiological response to demands or pressures from the environment. It's your body's reaction to a challenge or a threat. While stress can sometimes be positive, motivating you to perform well under pressure, it can also become overwhelming when it exceeds your ability to cope. ❓ How do I know if I'm stressed? There are many signs and symptoms that are indicators that your body could be under too much pressure. These include psychological signs such as poor concentration, low mood and depression; emotional signs including mood swings, feeling tearful and angry/ frustrated; and physical signs such as frequent colds, panic attacks and fatigue. There are also behavioural signs including absenteeism, withdrawal, addiction and relationship problems. ❓ Where can I get help? If you notice these symptoms for a prolonged time or they worsen, make an appointment to see your GP or call NHS 111. If you live in England, you can also refer yourself for psychological therapy through the NHS IAPT service without seeing your GP. There are also a number of charities that offer support, such as Mind, Shout UK and PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. #SavingLives #RandalFoundation Randal Charitable Foundation #stressawarenessmonth #stressawarenessmonth2024 #mentalhealth #stress #anxiety #depression #grants #charitywork #charitysupport #charityfundraising #charitysupport #grantgiving #grantfunding #fundraising #charitypartner #funding #nonprofit #community #philanthropy #charity #givingback #donate #childrenshealth #support #charitablegiving #charitabletrust #charitablefoundation #donations #healthcareforall #educationforall Rachael McCormack Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL

🌍✨ On this Mental Health Day, we invite you to reflect on the mental well-being of those around you. Grief can profoundly impact mental health, and as we continue to support individuals navigating their healing and grief journeys, your support is more crucial than ever. At our organization, we provide essential resources like free one-to-one support sessions, groups, and webinars, helping thousands in Halton, Peel, and beyond cope with their grief. However, these vital services rely heavily on donations, as we do not receive direct, ongoing funding for these core programs. Consider making a donation today to help us continue providing the support that many need. Together, we can ensure that no one faces their grief alone and that mental health remains a priority in our community. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference! 💚 Link in bio or visit https://lnkd.in/gfmUs2um to donate. #MentalHealthDay #GriefSupport #CommunityCare #GiveToday #NonProfit #Charity #Grief

Confession: I skipped breakfast and delayed lunch today. That is disordered eating. I've been struggling with disordered eating pretty regularly for my whole life, but it's gotten more noticeable and severe in the last couple years. For Project HEAL's HEAL Week, I want to normalize the fact that many professionals in the #mentalhealth field are actively struggling in silence (and, sometimes, receiving help), just like the people we serve. I know that I have the privilege of sharing this publicly, as sometimes professionals in this space have limitations on "self-disclosure" or just might feel uncomfortable sharing their difficulties. If you relate to this and want to help people like me - and people like you - get the help they need, support Project HEAL by donating at tinyurl.com/healweek24 Your gift makes a difference.
