1 year as an Account Executive at Deel!!! 🚀🚀
I’ve learned a WHOLE lot but as I reflect on the last 12 months, here are some takeaways:
1️⃣ I love being a seller in the HR/payroll/compliance industry! The buyer personas I work with, the product, the business challenges that I help solve😍
2️⃣ Being a consultant and understanding key differences among competitors is important.
3️⃣ No surprise here, outbound is your lifeline. Want to gain control? Consistently prioritize a multi-faceted outbound motion.
4️⃣ A “system” that works for you & organization >>>> almost everything else
5️⃣ Hypergrowth sometimes means growing pains so maintaining positivity, controlling the controllables, and being an “early adopter” of new products, initiatives, and processes are crucial to success.
6️⃣ Being a part of a full-remote global team is AWESOME but still has some challenging realities. (Especially when your team mates are so cool and successful and you’d love the opportunity to observe them working in person!)
7️⃣ A LOT… and I mean a lot… of people want to work at Deel 😂 I receive several DMs a week from potential candidates expressing interest in joining Deel.
8️⃣ It is beneficial to make buddies from different departments, segments, roles to increase work satisfaction and collaboration.
9️⃣ Surprisingly enough, I feel like it takes about 10 months to really find your “groove” in role. Lately, my talk tracks have improved, my consultative recommendations come naturally, my dependence on internal resources while live on calls has decreased.
