Goodness me what a whirlwind these past 5 weeks have been!
(Pietro told me starting my post like this sounds like I'm writing a letter to my granny apparently.) 👵🏻
In order to write something consisting of marginal structure, I thought I'd share a few things learnings since I've stepped into my new role...
📞 Cold-calling on the floor. (Not literally lying on the floor, although sometimes after the 20th person giving me a "no" that might be where I want to go.)
- I was ABSOLUTELY terrified to do this. The idea of an entire office hearing my occasional complete waffle was something I couldn't handle. Then one day, out of pure frustration that I didn't have a meeting, I sat at my desk, picked up the phone and booked one. Wam. Not so bad after all. Plus, I was told in hiding I would never improve, true.
🌍 Navigating a larger company. The office floor alone is very large, I commit to a cat walk every time I get a coffee.
- To me, the first goal I have is to establish credibility. How am I going to do that? Do my job well, push myself out of my comfort zone and ensure not to trip as I walk back to my seat with coffee no. 6
👥 Learning to never underestimate the competition in sales.
Being in the business of CXM, the customer is everything. Throughout my training, one of the key points that has been emphasised time and time again is in order to cut through the noise, you have to know your customer and consistently be adding value. Be customer obsessed.
Follow me if you like to read more consistent ramblings that just might help break up your work day (plus I want more followers) 😘
