In the box office hit Dune: Part 2, dunescapes set the stage in a massive way. PTL's Lab Managers thought you might like to see sand from a particle perspective. The snapshots on the left were taken using our Digital Microscopy (https://ow.ly/aHsE50QNfXV) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (https://ow.ly/MsoI50QNfXW). From sand to sea water, PTL can provide you with expert analysis and perspectives at the particle level. #digitalmicroscopy #scanningelectronmicroscopy #scienceofsand #particletechnology #SEManalysis #contractlab #particleanalysis #particletechnologylabs

Tecnico di radiologia ASST Lariana. Master specialista RM UniFI / Senior Radiographer PgD MRI specialist
Are Phase FOV and Phase over sampling the same thing? The answer is obviously no, but their use in practice is almost equivalent. I performed 2 scans with a phantom kindly lent me by the Health Physics Service of my hospital. The parameters are the same except that in one case I used a 100% phase FOV, and in the other case a 50% phase FOV but with 100% phase oversampling. As you can see, the spatial resolution and contrast resolution are almost the same, as are the acquisition time and SNR. On the other hand, if you use a 50% phase FOV without oversampling, things change a lot: you will have aliasing, lower SNR, but also a decrease in spatial resolution and contrast. On the other hand, the acquisition time is reduced by half. Perhaps these things are obvious, but when we are in front of the console it is good to remember. Reminder. Contrast Noise Ratio = (S1 - S2) / σn where S1 and S2 are the signal intensities of the two regions being compared, and σn is the standard deviation of the noise. #MRIphysics #MRIbasic #MasterSRMUnifi
