🌊 Clickbaiting you into caring about the health of our #BalticSea. Despite being the youngest sea on Earth, it's one of the most polluted bodies of water in Europe. Having grown up next to and in the water - Chesapeake Bay - I can't think of a life without it's enjoyment, whether swimming, sailing or showboating hehe. But now the Baltic Sea is suffering from excess nutrient load 🌿 fueling harmful plant and algae blooms that affect up to 97% of the water's surface. The Baltic Sea Day, launched by the John Nurmisen Säätiö (Foundation) in 2019, aims to get people inspired about supporting marine heritage and environmental work. These systems will play a crucial role in providing green power supply and facilitating energy-saving experiments at the base. The donation of these PV systems showcases LONGi's commitment to promoting sustainable development and renewable energy solutions. By harnessing the power of sunlight, these systems will generate clean electricity that can be utilized for various purposes within the Foping base. Furthermore, LONGi has taken an active role in supporting the cause of giant panda protection. We have adopted a panda named HiMO for life. Our Mission Investment contributions are processing nicely! We wanted to take this time to remind you of our innovative carbon offset programme in which we work out our emissions project by project, calculate the tonnage into a monetary figure then invest this directly with one of our chosen environmental charity partners. Following our Royal Marines heritage, we have chosen a land-based and water-based organisations to work with this year. The land-based organisation is Stump Up For Trees, and for every tonne of carbon, we emit through our travels will equate to 4 native broadleaf trees planted and managed over 12 years. The water-based organisation is the Scottish Association For Marine Science, and for every tonne of carbon, we emit through our travels will trigger an equivalent multiplier investment in education and research to support SAM’s purpose and objectives.
