Sweet tooth, Guy?! 🍭🍬🍫 • Ocean rowing, like many endurance challenges, can often be thought of as an eating exercise, with some rowing thrown in! 😯 • Between the four of them, this team will probably consume a little over 20,000 kcal a day - currently they are on course for a 54 day crossing - which means in this row they will consume over a MILLION kcal! 🤯 • Most of this will be in the form of dehydrated meals. These are simply fully cooked recipes, like spaghetti bolognaise, chicken tikka, beef stew, etc, but with all the moisture removed. They can then rehydrate these with filtered sea water. Having them in dehydrated form means they last, they're lightweight, and they take up less space. • Only eating these high calorie meals can be challenging for the stomach when you're trying to consume about 5000 kcal a day each, so a large portion of their intake is in the form of sweets! Bold campaign, that can bring a lot of help to animals. If you're not vegan, it doesn't mean you feel OK about how animals are treated in factory farms. So this campaign simply says that if you're not yet ready to change your diet for animals, maybe you can spare a few bucks to offset the negative impact of your meals. Habit change is difficult, but donating a few bucks now is easy :) Cool video & campaign!

I would like to start this post by introducing you to my mate Larry. I have known him for about 18 years. I’m Pretty certain you don’t know someone who has done half the things he has: 👉 Toured the world and a drummer in several bands 👉 Writes books about U-boats and submarines 👉 Has scuba dived in most of the seas in the world   AND, he is one of the most interesting and genuine people you will meet. So, Why am I telling you this? Well, he and is lovely wife Anna live in Italy they run a small non profit sanctuary for lost/ill/dying cats and dogs in their small town of Puglia. Italy has different rules about animal care…. And no one seems to care 😪 Anna and Larry have a house full of stray/sick/dying cats and dogs and still get calls about animals found at the roadside. They don’t say no. 🖐 Until recently they have paid for everything out of their own pocket. Recently they have started a shop and donation system to help them look after these poor animals that literally (in some cases) have been left in a box by the side of the road, or tied to a post and left to die. All I am asking is that you go and have a look at www.twigletandcrew.com and donate as much as you feel. - I know that it isn’t an England based organisation - I know that they aren’t a registered charity But what I do know, is that every penny that people donate goes to help feed the animals, or pay for operations or by last meals for some that have to leave us. I also know, that because Anna and Larry are such kind people, they love and care for every one of the animals, and it breaks them to see the state they come in. I want to starting about charities that I are close to my heart, and this seems like a great one to start with…..
