Ever wondered how heat pumps keep your home cool during those hot summer days? Let's break it down! 💡 1️⃣ Heat Absorption: Using a refrigerant, heat pumps absorb and extract the warm air, making your indoor environment cooler and more comfortable. 2️⃣ Heat Transfer: The absorbed heat is then transferred outside through the pump's coils in an efficient and eco-friendly process. 3️⃣ Cooling Cycle: The refrigerant inside the heat pump cycles continuously to maintain a steady, cool temperature in your home. The best part? They also provide warmth during the winter by reversing the process. Win-win! Stay comfortable all year long with an energy-efficient heat pump from Rusk. Let's think together. Some days ago, one of my friends became involved with an old project containing outdoor conditions of -30c in winter. The room air class is 4 and a fully fresh air system must be considered. Almost 6 ACH for the silo makes them heat almost 50.000 Cmh air to 15c. The 1st issue: inlet air temperature makes them use a huge heating coil. The 2nd issue: outlet air must be humid, so they must add a humidifier. For the first issue, I suggest using a Heat Recovery Box to save energy and avoid any shock to the main coil. For the Second issue, I recommend using a humidifier after the heater to avoid humidifier freezing. #HVAC #Heating

Heating Season is Here – Is Your Heating System Ready? With the colder months just around the corner, now’s the time to make sure your home’s heating system, whether it's oil, gas, or electric, is prepared for the demands of winter. Follow these essential steps to ensure your system runs safely and efficiently: 1. Schedule a System Check-Up – Whether you have a furnace, boiler, or heat pump, a professional tune-up can identify any potential issues and keep your system running smoothly. 2. Replace or Clean Air Filters – Clean filters improve airflow and system efficiency, which helps lower your energy bills and extends equipment life. 3. Check the Thermostat – Ensure your thermostat is working properly and consider upgrading to a programmable or smart thermostat for better control and savings. 4. Test Your System Early – Turn on your heating system before the first cold snap to ensure it’s running correctly, and you have time to fix any issues. These simple steps will help keep your home warm and your heating system operating efficiently throughout the season. Don't wait until the cold hits, prepare now! #thermoproducts #keepingyouwarm #thermopride #spirit #heatingseason

Heat pumps work by transferring heat from one place to another, and they can be an efficient and versatile heating solution for both winter and summer. Here's how heat pumps work in winter: 1. Heat pumps transfer heat from outdoor air to warm your home in winter. 2. Refrigeration cycle absorbs heat, compresses it, and circulates it indoors. 3. Energy-efficient as they move heat instead of generating it. 4. Some have backup electric heaters for extremely cold days. 5. Reversing valve allows them to switch between heating and cooling modes. 6. Geothermal heat pumps use the stable ground temperature for added efficiency. Need help with heat pumps or HVAC? 1 year of data is in! Our 50 gallon Rheem heat pump water heater used about 330 Kw this year...which for comparison is less than my fridge! While heating water may account for 20% of many folks energy usage...ours is about 3%. This is for 3 adults (no teens, lol) and I always keep it in heat pump only mode (Not "energy saver" hybrid mode). Some ways we enhance it's inherent efficiency...admittedly it is paired with the pre-exhisting solar hot water heater...but also shower heads are 1.5 gpm, cooled exhaust is piped out of the house, bathroom fan scavenges shower steam which feeds back towards unit intake, and anything else connected is generally off the energystar most efficient list. Even our highest winter use stayed under a 2 Kw a day average. And we didnt run out of hot water outside of a failed mixing valve during the winter storm.

It may assist you in chilly and warm conditions, even though its name contains the term “heat.” Simply stated a heat pump is more efficient than other heating systems because it produces more heat than it consumes. I was considering replacing my old central air conditioner and came across the term "ton setting." What does this mean? What could weight possibly have to do with cooling air?🤔 #HVAC #HomeImprovement #LearningEveryday Air conditioners are rated in tons because of a historical convention that originated before electric air conditioners were invented. Before refrigeration, people used ice to cool their homes and businesses by cutting it from rivers and ponds in the winter and storing it for use in the summer. Ice was sold by the ton, and when cooling machines were invented, their capacity was rated by the amount of ice that could be melted in a day. A ton of cooling capacity is the amount of heat energy required to melt a ton of ice, which is 286,000 British thermal units (BTUs). When melting a ton of ice in 24 hours, this is equivalent to 11,917 BTUs per hour, which was rounded up to 12,000 BTUs per hour, or one ton of air conditioner capacity. Cool, huh? -Mike

Beat the heat. Host a "Fan Frenzy" day where everyone installs or adjusts ceiling fans to spin counterclockwise. This direction creates a cooling breeze, making it feel cooler without lowering the thermostat. Combine this with some ice-cold lemonade for a refreshing home improvement day. Wylie Mechanical.
