Going through dozens of resume screens this morning (Raydiant is hiring!). The biggest improvement I can see is adding a short description about what each company you worked at does. What does the product do? Who are the customers? Big/small? Give me some context on the work and the team! Why assume I know every company you've worked at? Why make me have to click a link, take time to figure it out on a website that's not about you when the average recruiter screen lasts seconds? PS Looking for an exciting job with a great team at a growing tech company at the center of the digital transformation of physical spaces? Hiring People Priority When hiring, the order of priority has always been in experience and education qualifications. Probably due to the fact that, the more important quality of attitude is much harder to gauge / evaluate. Experience =》 just look at past career history. Qualification =》 look at certs. Attitude =》? But in reality, both qualifications (knowledge) and experience can be earned and enhanced over time, on job. Attitude on other hand is much harder to change as it's part of one's character. Hence many of us make the mistake of prioritizing E and Q over A. But over time, this mistake will prove fatal. One way, I used to try to test a candidate's attitude was by holding the interview sessions way early like 7am or asking for some pre-work to be completed. From there, a majority of candidates can be evaluated on their attitude to join my teams. Adios Amigos.

The current state of the job market is beyond frustrating. It's clear that countless individuals are facing an uphill battle in finding suitable roles or even getting responses from recruitment teams. Automated systems seem to be systematically pushing less qualified individuals down the list, disregarding their potential to gain valuable experience in the field. The multi-stage interview procedures embraced by certain organizations not only complicate the job search process but also frequently waste candidates' time, especially when they are ultimately labeled as 'unfit'. It's ridiculous for entry-level jobs to require years of experience when these roles are meant for individuals to gain that experience. What's going to happen when all the senior-level staff leave and there's no one underneath them to replace them? I guess time will tell. What are your thoughts on this? https://lnkd.in/gp9fvTbj #jobs #jobmarket #job #corporate #corporateamerica

Using the great candidate criteria to filter and screen people from consideration makes no sense and is counterproductive. Not only is it a poor predictor of success, but it also inadvertently eliminates outstanding candidates from consideration. In order to hire the best fit, you need to start by recognizing that the criteria used to filter prospects for consideration is one of the reasons you're not seeing enough talented people to even consider. Eliminating this bottleneck is difficult though, since it's part of very fabric of most hiring processes today. But breaking the bottleneck starts with this simple question when opening up a new job requisition: “𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓?”

Employers: Before you start interviewing for that job opening, fill in this blank: 'The person we want to hire should have pre-existing ambitions to become ______ as the next step in their career." #hiringstrategies #planforthefuture
