This certificate represents more than just a piece of paper - it symbolizes a deep connection between you and your patient. It's about putting yourself in their shoes and understanding their perspective. If you were in their situation, facing the same health concerns or physical challenges, what emotions would you experience? What expectations would you have from the person handling your sample or diagnosis? It's about empathy, compassion, and understanding. It's a reminder that the person on the other end of the diagnosis is not just a patient, but a human being with feelings, fears, and hopes. By acknowledging this connection, you can provide a more personalized and caring approach to healthcare, making a positive impact on your patient's journey.

🙋♀️ I need your help! My team at Verywell Health wants to talk to people about their experiences living with psoriasis. At VWH, we're great at giving our readers the facts about various health conditions, but there's so much more to living with a health condition than what's written in the research, AMIRITE? We want to highlight the nuances of living with psoriasis—the challenges, the successes, the way it affects your life. If you want to share your psoriasis experience with us, DM me! This is a first-person story, ghostwritten by one of our expert writers.

Reflecting on my recent conversation with Rodney Hide, I'm reminded of the joy and depth that comes from sharing ideas that are close to our hearts. Our discussion wasn't just an interview; it was a vibrant exchange on the transformative power of Positive Medicine and the essence of treating the whole person. Rodney's insightful questions and genuine curiosity created a space where I could share not just the concepts behind Positive Medicine but the spirit that drives it. It was a dialogue that felt as natural and engaging as a chat with an old friend, yet it was packed with explorations into how we can revolutionise healthcare by embracing a more empathetic and holistic approach. This experience was a vivid reminder of why I'm so passionate about Positive Medicine. It's about more than just health; it's about connection, understanding, and seeing the world through another's eyes. It's about bringing our full selves to every interaction and fostering a partnership in healing. For those who missed it or wish to experience our conversation, you can listen here: https://hubs.ly/Q02qFY5K0 I hope it sparks something in you, just as it did for me during and after our chat. Your insights and reflections are always welcome as we journey together towards a more compassionate and comprehensive approach to health. #PositiveMedicine #HealthEmerges

Empathy vs. Sympathy: Do You Know the Difference? Empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, truly understanding and sharing their emotions. On the other hand, sympathy involves feeling sorrow for someone, sometimes to the extent of taking on their emotions yourself. While sympathy is a compassionate trait, it may not always be the most constructive approach. Why Empathy Matters Developing empathy is crucial. It's a valuable skill that can help you remain calm, view situations from another’s perspective, and, most importantly, make others feel heard and understood. In healthcare, empathy is shown to enhance therapeutic relationships and improve patient outcomes. https://lnkd.in/ejZQUb9n How do you show empathy to your patients?
