We transact to transform. 10-years ago we acquired Booz & Company adding globally 1,000+ strategy consultants (now Strategy&).   And we means PwC, while I was a junior manager in the New York strategy group. I was so excited and curious when I first read every detail of the due diligence report in my "spare time". Code name was "Project Hercules".   And this is what it was: A big, industry-defining transformation. Suddenly consultants were able to not only deliver parts of the solution, but integrate their advice from strategy through execution, with better offerings for our clients and for our talent. Also 10-years after, feels good to hold this tombstone in my hand. A very special one indeed. Interesting to note that the big four are PwC, KPMG, Deloitte and EY and these are really large in terms of global coverage, annual revenue and number of employees. But Accenture, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), McKinsey & Company and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, IQVIA, Clarivate, Bain & Company, Kearney, Frost & Sullivan are growing very fast are not far behind. #strategy #growth #mergersandacquisitions

KPMG has announced the merger of its UK and Swiss firms, creating a business with revenues of $4.4bn that hopes to tap into bigger markets and boost profits. KPMG Switzerland and KPMG UK will remain separate firms governed by the respective national laws and supervision. The separate Management Committees for each firm will continue to operate, being responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business and implementing the group strategy. The Big Four accounting and consulting group said that partners in both countries voted “overwhelmingly” in favour of merging, after talks were first reported by the Financial Times in December. The tie-up, which will come into effect in October, is the biggest strategic change at KPMG since UK chief executive Jon Holt took over in 2021. “This marks a historic moment for both firms. When I started in 2011 as a Business Analyst the 1 Billion was far ahead. Much closer was the memory of the difficult years before with the formative global financial crisis in 2008. Some history: In 2009, BearingPoint, Inc. filed for bankruptcy but all companies outside the USA, in particular BearingPoint Europe were 𝗻𝗼𝘁 affected. In August 2009, BearingPoint EMEA successfully completed a management buy-out (MBO), headed by our longterm Managing Partner Peter Mockler. In 2018 Kiumars Hamidian took on the leadership of BearingPoint. By the way: The word pair "BearingPoint" originally comes from navigation and literally means "direction finding point" or "course direction".
