This year, the focus is on understanding one's risk of type 2 diabetes to prevent or delay the disease. Emphasizing the impact of diabetes-related complications, the campaign stresses the significance of accessible information and care for timely treatment and management. Presently, diabetes poses a global health challenge, urging governments to ensure affordable, high-quality access to diabetes care. A recently published article is a call to action to change asthma management in the UK to reduce the risk of attacks. In 2014 Royal College of Physicians published its National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) which revealed critical insights into the gaps in asthma care. Shockingly, 10 years on, very little progress has been made. Today, we are proud to stand alongside clinicians, patients and system partners across the respiratory community, to call for an end to preventable asthma deaths. At the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Respiratory Health at UK Parliament we will join others in calling for a zero-tolerance approach to #asthma deaths. #WorldAsthmaDay2024 #NRADat10 #Asthmacare

Diabetics try your best when you can how can to taking care of your body

Today, we're honoured to be at UK Parliament, shining a spotlight on the critical findings and the concerning lack of action following the publication of the National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) 10 years ago.   A decade later, lung health continues to be a low national priority and asthma outcomes in the UK are among the poorest in Europe. Available data show there has been a 46% increase in hospital admissions and in the last decade alone, over 12,000 adults and children have lost their lives to asthma.   Well before and in the years after NRAD, the respiratory community have tirelessly advocated for a transformation in how asthma is managed and treated, and yet despite these efforts, little has changed.   Today, we are proud to stand alongside the Taskforce for Lung Health and system partners supporting a call to action for government and NHS intervention. Let’s make the next decade different with a zero-tolerance approach to asthma deaths.   #NRADat10 #asthmacare
