This November the diabetes community is once again highlighting Access to Diabetes Care on World Diabetes Day, 11/14. At Ryse Health, we provide diabetes care and education every day to help our patients manage the complexities of this disease. We do this by providing continued, quality access to our current and future patients by offering both in-person visits at our clinic locations and virtually via telehealth. Our multi-disciplinary care team works to cultivate a safe and empathetic environment so that we can help reduce the burden of this chronic disease for our patients. Join us in raising awareness on World Diabetes Day so that we can work towards getting more access to diabetes care. #worlddiabetesday2023

In 2023, the "Access to Diabetes Care" theme concludes its three-year run for World Diabetes Day (2021-23). This year, the focus is on understanding one's risk of type 2 diabetes to prevent or delay the disease. Emphasizing the impact of diabetes-related complications, the campaign stresses the significance of accessible information and care for timely treatment and management. Presently, diabetes poses a global health challenge, urging governments to ensure affordable, high-quality access to diabetes care. Simultaneously, the healthcare community is tasked with raising awareness about this preventable disease. If not now, when? How can we make progress towards tackling one of the world's leading causes of death that so many have never heard of? At AstraZeneca, we believe the solution towards improving chronic obstructive respiratory disease (COPD) care lies in collaboration and raising awareness. That’s why we are working with our industry partners, clinicians, policymakers and patient advocates to bring COPD centre stage in the public health conversation and eliminate it as a leading cause of death. Learn more about how you can #SpeakUpForCOPD and be part of elevating COPD as a public health priority:

A recently published article is a call to action to change asthma management in the UK to reduce the risk of attacks. It outlines the need for a new national asthma strategy, incorporating both Anti-Inflammatory Reliever therapy alone and Maintenance and Reliever Therapy to improve the current poor UK asthma outcomes📣 https://ow.ly/yYVV50QxMV4 Last year, following the approval of the use of a dual (ICS/Formoterol) combination treatment to be used as a reliever therapy, PCRS outlined a new approach to asthma in PCRU and developed a simple algorithm for healthcare practitioners working in primary care - access here https://ow.ly/r2rz50QxMV3 #AsthmaManagement #Asthma

In 2014 Royal College of Physicians published its National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) which revealed critical insights into the gaps in asthma care. Shockingly, 10 years on, very little progress has been made. Today, we are proud to stand alongside clinicians, patients and system partners across the respiratory community, to call for an end to preventable asthma deaths. At the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Respiratory Health at UK Parliament we will join others in calling for a zero-tolerance approach to #asthma deaths. #WorldAsthmaDay2024 #NRADat10 #Asthmacare

Today, we're honoured to be at UK Parliament, shining a spotlight on the critical findings and the concerning lack of action following the publication of the National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) 10 years ago. A decade later, lung health continues to be a low national priority and asthma outcomes in the UK are among the poorest in Europe. Available data show there has been a 46% increase in hospital admissions and in the last decade alone, over 12,000 adults and children have lost their lives to asthma. Well before and in the years after NRAD, the respiratory community have tirelessly advocated for a transformation in how asthma is managed and treated, and yet despite these efforts, little has changed. Today, we are proud to stand alongside the Taskforce for Lung Health and system partners supporting a call to action for government and NHS intervention. Let’s make the next decade different with a zero-tolerance approach to asthma deaths. #NRADat10 #asthmacare
