Over the past few weeks, I've highlighted employee retention and engagement issues within companies. It's alarming that only 23% of employees worldwide feel fully engaged at work. Additionally, 40% of workers globally and 66% in India actively seek new job opportunities. At INFORCE, we've successfully kept our turnover rate at a low 1.4% and are working to decrease it even further. Are you ready if your most valuable employees decide to leave? How will your clients react if they discover that their key personnel, someone as pivotal as Adrian Newey, is leaving for a competitor? These situations are real, and their impact is significant.

🎁 Happy Boxing Day to the HR Community! 🎁 While traditionally Boxing Day was about giving to those who helped us throughout the year, it’s a lovely reminder for HR professionals too. You’re the unsung heroes who give every day—whether it’s creating opportunities for growth, building bridges between diverse teams, or supporting employees through challenges. Today, as we celebrate the spirit of generosity, let’s also reflect on the gifts that HR brings to the workplace: 💼 Empathy: Listening to understand, not just respond. 🌍 Inclusivity: Ensuring everyone feels like they belong. 🚀 Growth: Helping others realise their potential. Take a moment today to give yourself a well-earned pat on the back—and maybe even some time to recharge. ✨ What do you think is the greatest “gift” HR professionals bring to the workplace? Share your thoughts in the comments! #BoxingDay #HRCommunity #WorkplaceWellbeing #GlobalCommunication #GorkemTuney

~Is your boss micromanaging you?~ In her latest article published at Rediff.com, our CEO and Founder, Sonica Aron (She/Her/Hers) explores an issue that many of us have likely encountered but rarely discuss openly: #MICROMANAGEMENT. This management style can be more than just a minor annoyance; it can impact morale, stifle creativity, and erode trust within teams. Are we aware of how micromanagement is affecting employee autonomy and engagement? How much control is too much before it starts to become counterproductive? And, importantly, is micromanagement rooted in leadership or simply a lack of trust? This piece dives deep into the why, what, and how of micromanagement, offering insights and practical strategies for anyone navigating these challenges. Curious to know if you're facing a micromanager or want to help create a healthier workplace? Who's excited for the start of UEFA Euro 24? ⚽ To ensure that the next 4 weeks are all about great football, team spirit and hopefully no detrimental impact on productivity, absenteeism and workplace harmony, Make UK's legal experts have put together a really useful guide for HR professionals, people managers and business owners. I'll put the link to the full article in the comments but here's some of the headlines for any business to consider during the tournament: 1. Be clear about your game plan - it's reasonable to anticipate an increase in holiday requests - will these be authorised or are you expecting 'business as usual'? 2. Consider offering flexibility - could be a good way of increasing staff morale 3. Keep your eye on the ball - is there an opportunity to watch the games at work? - could improve team spirit 4. Beware of banter - seemingly always on the HR agenda but could be a real issue during the tournament as friendly debate crosses a line - is now the time to refresh your employees on your company's DEI policies? 5. Avoid injury time - is there an increased risk to your operation from a H&S perspective if people are celebrating the night before? 6. The 'sickie' - again reminding everyone of your policies in this area may discourage those that have forgotten to book the day off - is today a good day to do this considering the first England game is on Sunday? As always, this isn't about taking anything away from the enjoyment of the tournament but this summer is packed with great sporting events and businesses need to be prepared. Please feel free to read the full article for helpful advice or call one of our team on 0808 168 5874 for further help.
