Prada Group delivers H1 sales growth 👏 The Italian luxury fashion house has revealed a 18% increase in first-half revenue, totalling €2.2bn. In a company statement, the group said that Prada brand retail sales grew by 6% and Miu Miu achieved an impressive 93% rise in retail sales. Sales in the APAC region rose by 12%, with Japan performing particularly strongly and growing by 55%. Europe sales were up 18%, Americas by 7%, and the Middle East by 20%. In 2024 Michele is in negotiations with Mayhoola to join Valentino taking with him his large staff and big revenge ambitions. Who is in charge of what at Mayhoola and Kering? The Italian design impresario, who is approaching his 90th birthday, told Bloomberg News then that he wouldn’t rule out a merger for his fashion empire. His comments fuelled speculation about the future of the Italian luxury industry, where many companies are still independent and family-controlled — including Salvatore Ferragamo SpA, Prada SpA, Moncler SpA and Ermenegildo Zegna NV. All lack the scale of powerful, acquisitive French rivals LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE and Kering SA.Prada, for its part, has has made a string of investments in manufacturing suppliers in Italy over recent years, as it works to increase internal production and shorten its supply chain. The company remains committed to investing in Italy, Chief Executive Officer Andrea Guerra said at Tuesday’s event. LUXURY DOWNTURN HITS SOME MORE THAN OTHERS This week’s set of quarterly results demonstrated the extent to which some brands were much more resilient than others to the current luxury spending downturn. On the one hand, you had Hermès Moncler and Prada Group posting surprisingly strong growth – with Prada Group’s Miu miu breaking all records with an 89 percent spike in retail sales thanks to the popularity of its rebel college girl looks. And then you had Gucci owner Kering warning that first-half profits could fall by as much as 45 percent, sending its shares to a six-year low. Also, this week Valentino, in which Kering bought a 30 percent stake in November, finally published its annual results – two months after everyone else. Valentino’s operating profit fell 18 percent to €99 million on turnover of €1.35 billion, down 3 percent at constant exchange rates. #highluxury #luxuryretail

TOD'S Group reported a 62.7% jump in operating profit to €94.7M in 2023, alongside double-digit revenue growth across all four of its brands (TOD'S, Roger Vivier, Hogan and Fay). Brunello Cucinelli reported a 23.9% rise in full-year sales, while Prada Group’s sales were up 17%. FERRAGAMO reported a 7.6% fall in sales and a 43.7% drop in operating profit. Gucci and Louis Vuitton aren't spared either, garnering 118,800 and 87,600 searches, respectively, for their replicas.
