Announcing the Safran Groups’s full-year 2023 results, CEO Olivier Andriès hailed the progress made last year as “outstanding”. Revenues were up 22% in 2023, to €23.2bn, vs. €19bn in 2022.Safran logo Safran said this was in part due to its positioning on narrow-body markets, which are now above pre-COVID, 2019 levels and growing. With large order backlogs for single-aisle airplanes, the supply chain has struggled to keep up with demand. The Paris-listed company’s operating income was up 31%, from €2.4bn in 2022 to €3.1bn in 2023, and free cash flow generation topped €2.9bn, which was above expectations and an increase on the €2.6bn in 2022. #financials #Safran #aviation #singleaisle

The collaboration between Malaysia and China in organising the Malaysia-China Aviation Forum reflects the growing significance of China’s aerospace industry and Malaysia’s aspiration to play a more prominent role in the global supply chain. With Malaysia’s established presence in aviation material and aircraft parts manufacturing, we hope to unlock new opportunities and dynamics in the aerospace industry. The New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) outlines four missions: advance economic complexity, tech up for a digitally vibrant nation, push for net zero and safeguard economic security and inclusivity. I am confident that the rapidly growing local aerospace industry will drive these four missions and Malaysia will become the Asian hub for aerospace manufacturing and services in the near future.

It has been announced that Airbus SAS (Airbus) and Air France SA (Air France), the subsidiary of Air France-KLM, are to combine resources for the creation of a 50:50 joint venture. This JV is for the provision of component maintenance services (supply chain management, repairs, creation of a worldwide pool of aircraft components for the Airbus A350 long-range, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner. The collaboration will see the transfer of aircraft component assets belonging to both partners into the JV pool. It will also amalgamate the expertise of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Airbus, to better meeting the growing long-term maintenance requirements of the Airbus A350 worldwide fleet (over 1,000 aircraft on order and 550 aircraft presently in service worldwide) through enhanced capacity, an expanded global footprint, and the development of innovative solutions.
