The dental market's consolidation is on the rise. There are many pros and cons and I would love to get your opinion on which holds more weight(Pros or Cons). Below are some points from an economic standpoint juxtaposing the two sides. Positives of Market Consolidation: -Increased efficiency: Mergers can eliminate redundancies and optimize resource allocation, leading to lower costs and higher productivity. -Greater economies of scale: Larger companies can leverage buying power, distribution networks, and economies of scale to offer lower prices and more competitive products. -Enhanced innovation: Consolidated resources can be directed towards research and development, potentially leading to faster technological advancements. -Improved service quality: Larger companies may have the resources to invest in better customer service infrastructure and training. Negatives of Market Consolidation: -Reduced competition: Fewer players can lead to higher prices, less innovation, and decreased customer choice. -Loss of diversity: Smaller companies and niche offerings may disappear, homogenizing the market. -Decreased job opportunities: Mergers and acquisitions can result in job losses as companies streamline operations. -Increased market power: Large corporations may wield undue influence over suppliers, consumers, and even governments. -Potential anti-competitive practices: Dominant players may engage in predatory pricing, unfair business practices, or stifle competition through lobbying. 😫 What it looks like when your tech stack doesn't integrate... My passion for dental vendors is rooted in ensuring seamless integration and genuine understanding of the dental practice's workflow. When tech stacks fail to integrate smoothly, it’s not just a minor inconvenience—it’s a "cringe factor" that can impact daily operations and staff morale. Pearl has been a tried and true example of this in our industry, they did the grunt work to master integrations BEFORE selling their incredible technology to practices, and they have partnered with other amazing vendors as a part of their seamless integration plan. 🔍 To avoid becoming the next meme: 💡 Be Real, Be Authentic: Authenticity in partnerships builds trust and ensures that solutions truly fit your practice’s needs. 💡 Seek Out Vendor Partners That Pair with Your Technology: Choose partners who genuinely understand and integrate with your existing systems, minimizing disruptions. 💡 Build and Collaborate TOGETHER: Work with other vendors who are committed to collaborative solutions and are willing to adapt based on your feedback and needs. 💡 Don’t Hire Sales Teams That "Sell" Without Understanding the Framework: Ensure that your sales teams have a deep understanding of how their product impacts dental workflows and can provide genuine solutions. Or at least hire someone who can coach your teams to excellence. Be a true dental partner, not just a vendor. Spend time understanding and working within the trenches of dental practices, and you’ll see not only stronger relationships but also growth and success for your company. Let’s work together to create seamless, integrated solutions that make a REAL difference! #DentalTech #TechIntegration #VendorPartnerships #DentalWorkflow #PracticeGrowth #TechSolutions #BeAuthentic

I Help Surgeons & Med Tech Differentiate Their Brand From The Sea of Sameness | Voted Best Healthcare Cause Marketing Agency | Agency Locations: San Diego, Portland, & Milan, Italy
Here's the exact personalized video I will send to 7 different surgeons this morning at 7:01 AM. - - - My step-by-step process: 1. Develop my talk track. See below 2. Copy my talk track into Vidyard teleprompter as a reference & record 3. Send finished video (2m video) to 7 different doctors before 7:01 AM 4. Data monitoring sends me insights into %watched and if they shared w/someone else 5. Takes me less than 15m to record this video once and send to 7 doctors What I will never do: -spend time introducing myself & our company -use the words "circle back and follow up." -verbally ask for an appointment -speak longer than 3 minutes Recent trainees: Medtronic Depuy Synthes J&J Shockwave - - - My talk track for the video I sent this morning: "Let's talk about something that keeps many surgeons up at night - reputation and thought leadership. I've found a solution that has helped others in your specialty. Can give you names if that's important to you. It's called physician digital opinion (dol) leadership, and it's like a shield for your career. By creating personalized videos like this one, you can build a reputation and digitize trust that goes beyond your local practice. And you don't need any special equipment, no editing, you're not required to hire anyone to film you, and takes less than 15 minutes a day. Imagine this: You're not just a surgeon anymore. You're a trusted guide in your field. Your influence is diversified, so you're not dependent on a single income stream. You're respected, protected, and more fulfilled than ever. The best part? It works for patient referrals, media coverage, and monetizing med tech relationships. This isn't just about earning attention. It's about digitizing trust and democratizing your thought leadership at scale. Considering becoming a physician digital opinion leader? Worth a chat?”

💡Wonderful analysis by Eric Sugalski about the shortcomings of transferring the MVP concept into medtech as "quick'n'dirty route to market". Thinking through the actual outcome including all stakeholders is crucial, but this shouldn't be a theoretical exercise, not even limited to interactions with potential customers / users / stakeholders. How about this: An MVP for medtech is a prototype that lets you assess the viability of the resulting product. This includes: - outcome / actual stakeholder impact (in all the aspects Eric Sugalski mentions in his post) - attainable performance in real-world settings - requirements to get this thing into market
I love the concept of MVP. But I hate how MedTech companies are using it. #MVP = Minimum Viable Product Most MedTech companies think MVP is about developing a product on the cheap. Doing the bare minimum with design controls. Running V&V on 3D Printed parts. Controlled builds in the founder’s basement. Choosing the lowest bar for regulatory clearance.. That MVP interpretation never ends well.. They may get to the market quickly, but no one's buying. Investors lose confidence. Teams burn out. And the company descends into the MedTech MVP graveyard. Let's reframe MVP in #Medtech : At its core, MVP is about putting key assumptions on the table early. With the intention to validate (or invalidate) those assumptions. The biggest assumption being -- customers will buy. But if we're not going to take the fast, cheap MVP route, how exactly can we test willingness to buy, early? First, let’s ask -- what exactly are MedTech customers buying? Err.. medical devices? Not really. MedTech customers (the ones writing the check) don't care about the device. Ok..? What exactly do they care about then? They care about #outcomes Clinical and economic outcomes. That’s what healthcare is buying – a % likelihood that critical outcomes will positively change. So, the MVP in MedTech is the **Outcome** Then, what are the assumptions about this Outcome? > It represents a high priority problem for the customer > It is measurable, and they measure it the same way that you do > The change needed to achieve the outcome is justifiable That last bullet is a big one – justifying change. When developing #medicaldevices, we need to be honest about the change that will be required by healthcare. It’s not as simple as ordering an alternative device.. Sure, there may be changes in unit costs. But much more significant to healthcare systems -- the physician / nurse re-training, EHR changes, sterile processing changes, facility changes, supply chain and contract changes, and more.. What are the costs of change in healthcare if your solution is implemented? Take off the better-than-sliced-bread hat and put on the skeptic hat for a minute. Whose job is impacted? Physicians, nurses, administrators, supply chain, central processing, legal, risk management, purchasing agents, others? These are the people that will be there on judgement day: #valueanalysis Get in their heads. Understand their motivators, their constraints. Think critically about their current workflows and the change they will incur. Be honest about the costs of change – the hassle factor, the learning curve, the inconsistencies, the disruptions, the pile of work that is already tall and getting taller by implementing your MedTech solution.. Better yet, talk to these people. Pressure test your thinking. To sum it up.. MedTech MVP = Critical Outcome Key Assumption = Costs of Change are Justifiable Early Test = Candid Customer Feedback Adam, Etienne, Mark, Diane, Ben
