By taking an innovative approach, Colliers Engineering & Design can unlock value and enhance project yield to the benefit of developers and communities. The Colliers team collaborated with Stockland to deliver the land lease retirement community development B by Halcyon. Chris Carley, Regional Project Director at Stockland, praised our Engineering & Design experts for their outstanding work in transforming a disused cane farm, located on rural zoned land.
Despite challenging environmental considerations, the team enhanced the resorts surrounding nature to create a thriving and connected ecosystem and community. Our Engineering & Design experts converted overland flow paths to waterbodies as a key project innovation, achieving Legal Point of Discharge requirements, increasing project yield by 53 sites ($40 million in value), and lowering construction costs by $5 million by reducing import fill. This strategy balanced cut and fill without importing materials, optimising resources and costs. Additionally, the four waterbodies were designed to maintain fish passage and waterway quality, outperforming traditional vegetated channels.
