In France, the lack of available heart grafts continues to be a major challenge, with hundreds of patients waiting for a life-saving heart transplant. For many, the LVAD has become an essential strategy, offering a lifeline while they await a suitable donor. However, this highlights the urgency for increased organ donation awareness and policies that address this pressing need. We must continue advancing technologies like the LVAD, but also focus on expanding the pool of available donors to ensure that heart transplantation remains a viable long-term solution for patients in critical need.
