Sorry! I didn’t hear you! It’s something I’ve had to get used to hearing, and while repeating yourself can be frustrating, it’s a reminder of the challenges many children in the UK face every day with hearing loss. In August, I set out on a mission to make a difference by supporting an incredible charity that’s close to my heart: the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) What am I even doing? I’ll be attenpting to run the TCS London Marathon in April 2025 as part of their hashtag#teamNDCS. 🏃🏻 This organisation helps children like my son, Leo, who live in a world that doesn’t always accommodate their needs. Right now, I’m looking for three businesses to collaborate with me as I raise awareness and funds for NDCS. Together, we can: 👉 Help break down barriers that hold deaf children back. 👉 Provide life-changing support for the 52,798 deaf children in the UK. 👉 Show that with the right help, deafness is not a limitation. This is personal for me—I’ll be documenting my journey as someone who couldn’t even run 1km back in August, but who is determined to push through to make a difference. If your business is looking to collaborate, raise awareness, and create an impact, please drop me a message or leave a 👍 in the comments. Let’s make a real difference together. Should anyone wish to just donate 👇 https://lnkd.in/eFXT9zD4 #LondonMarathon2025 #nationaldeafchildrenssociety #raisingmoney #helpingothers #makingadifferenceeveryday #salestraining #greatermanchester

Most people don't know even know a deaf person, let alone anything about being deaf, or Deaf culture. Because of that, there's also a lack of resources. American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) provides our family with a lot of needed resources, so I'm raising awareness and funds for them to give back/pay it forward to other families. As part of my campaign during Deaf Awareness Month, I'm sharing a post everyday. Here is yesterday's post with my daughter teaching some basic ASL. You can read our story or donate here: https://lnkd.in/e-Z8zU8x You can also help by following me, engaging with my posts, and sharing. Another great story where innovation leads to a better life for one person AND the experience can be replicated for more people too. I'm looking for people who think like me... I'm an idea person; I see where a simple change could lead to a higher value - who do I contact? One of my passions is called "Carl's Idea Hatchery, Logo Lab, and Business Incubator". My passion is helping where I can so it's very common for me to refer people to others who can help them more, whether it's protecting an invention from predatory investors or finding enough space in a garage to innovate and build something like the next Apple computer. If anyone from the #WeCarryKevan organization reaches out, my idea is yours for 1% of the value it adds, payable ONLY AFTER the idea pays for the cost of its development and implementation. (very low cost and I will help. I am a frequent volunteer.)
“Hi, My name is Kevan Chandler. I am 35 years old and live in Fort Wayne, IN, with my beautiful wife, Katie. I was born with a disease called spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), which weakens my muscles so that I can’t walk. I usually use a wheelchair to get around, but I have also found that my best resource for accessibility is friendship. In 2015, I asked a few dear friends to help me realize a lifelong dream to travel to Europe. They all eagerly got on board to make it happen. We started a campaign called “We Carry Kevan” to raise money for our adventure. We also adapted a kid carrier backpack so the guys could carry me where my wheelchair couldn’t go… which was most of the places we were planning to visit! After this amazing experience, I wanted to help others redefine accessibility in their own lives like my friends and I had done. So “We Carry Kevan” became an officially incorporated non-profit organization, to provide more specialized backpacks and ongoing supportive care to families with disabilities all over the world. I took another big trip with my friends in 2018, this time to China. We saw some unbelievable things and even walked on the Great Wall. We also visited care centres for children with disabilities and got to share backpacks and the message of hope.

We're proud to feature Go Live Theatre Projects (GLTP) for this month's Story of Impact. GLTPuses the power of theatre to create inspiring experiences and unlock possibilities for disadvantaged families and young people with SEND. IICF’s 2024 grant has allowed GLTP to deliver a 12-week creative drama project at a Youth Organisation in Westminster for young people aged 11-25 with mild to moderate learning disabilities and often from economically deprived backgrounds. What did participants experience? - 1. Greater confidence to contribute and try something new. 2. Improved wellbeing by taking part in a fun, creative and group activity. 3. Greater ability to express themselves creatively and develop their social skills. “A was so confident and excited to devise her own character from the sorting hat exercise. She had ideas right away and directed the group! We have never seen her do this before or be so quick to jump up and put herself in the spotlight to perform (…) We all found ourselves in awe and wonder at her taking centre stage and were really proud for her to have this moment to shine.” – Lead practitioner To learn more about the charity, visit https://lnkd.in/den8B3s9 About IICF The UK has one of the poorest rates of social mobility in the developed world. We’re working to change this by uniting the industry in volunteering, leadership, and grants to social mobility charities. In the UK, we’ve raised nearly £2M to change the lives of more than 7,200 people in the communities in which we live and work. A different one from me today and more of a personal post in seeking some support. I have a milestone birthday this year and I wanted to do a challenge as part of my celebrations, it helps me focus when I have a target to aim for, but also do something that will make a positive difference to others, whilst doing something that I love. I will be cycling 220 miles in a single day on Sunday 22 June 2025. Starting in Manchester and finishing in London, I'll be leaving my limits behind to raise vital funds for Ambitious about Autism. Ambitious about Autism is the national charity standing with autisitc children and young people. They champion rights, campaign for change and create opportunities for autistic young people and their families. I'd be hugely grateful if you could support my efforts to raise some money for this amazing charity. Link to donate whatever you can below and I will keep you updated on my training and preparation. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which is estimated to affect one in 100 people in the UK. However, it is likely this figure is higher. A recent study of seven million young people found that around one in 57 children in the UK are autistic. Autism affects the way a person communicates and how they experience the world around them. It is described as a spectrum condition because while autistic people share certain characteristics, they will be highly individual in their interests, needs and preferences. Some autistic people live independently, but others may need additional support because of a learning disability or other health needs such as mental health or epilepsy. Autistic children and young people face enormous challenges due to a lack of understanding of their needs. Early intervention and support are critical if autistic children and young people are to be themselves and realise their ambitions. Thank you!! #M2L #Ambitious220

We set ambitious goals because the work we do at United Cerebral Palsy is vital—and right now, we need your help to close the gap. While we’ve raised $112,259, we’re still short of our $175,000 end-of-year fundraising goal. That’s a big deficit, but we believe in aiming high because there is so much work to be done in the year ahead. For individuals with disabilities, access to resources, advocacy, and therapies can mean the difference between a life full of limitations and one filled with possibility. We can’t do this without you. Every dollar you give brings us closer to our goal and closer to a world where every person can thrive. Will you help us reach $125K? Together, we can provide the tools and support necessary for people to lead lives without limits. In #leadership, being #intentional means leading with purpose and clarity. It’s about setting clear intentions that guide our actions and decisions, ensuring they align with our values and goals. When we lead with intention, we inspire trust, foster collaboration, and create a positive impact. Every year in Australia, 1 in a thousand newborn babies has some form of hearing loss and I am the mother of a one in a thousand. My intention for this post is to support a charity that is close to my heart 💙 If you have been on the fence about investing in your own professional development... well we have an opportunity that we hope will inspire YOU to take the next step towards growth. PeopleQ is offering 3 different public programs to anyone who wants to level up ⬆ their leadership and personal resilience skills. And we are pledging ALL proceeds going directly to support #LoudShirtDay this October and CanDo4Kids. By participating in one of our public programs you will being supporting the delivery of the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) Program which is a very specialised service which aims to build the listening centres in the child’s brain as quickly as possible. Neuroplasticity of the brain is at its greatest during the first three and a half years of life, so it is vital that they commence LSL therapy as soon as possible and meet this crucial window of opportunity. This program is currently funded by NDIS and fundraising dollars raised from Loud Shirt Day supports the gaps in funding required to ensure we have the appropriate resources and equipment to continue to service children accessing the program.
