The NAI Invention Ambassador program, created in partnership with the USPTO, is composed of accomplished inventors, innovators, entrepreneurs, and commercialization experts who will take part in speaking engagements across the nation addressing the pivotal role of innovation in driving social, economic, and environmental progress. Through these engagements, the NAI Invention Ambassadors aim to celebrate and showcase the importance of #invention, share best practices for the innovation ecosystem, and foster a culture of inclusive #innovation. Regarding the new program, Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO, stated,

The 0100 Conference Mediterranean in Milan is fast approaching 🔜 On the morning of Tuesday, October 29th, our managing partner Massimiliano Magrini will join a panel discussion on the evolving dynamics between Limited Partners (LPs) and General Partners (GPs) in the private equity and venture capital landscape. He will be sharing the stage with Heinrich Riehl, CFA (VenCap International plc), Christiana Manzocco (Alberta Enterprise Corporation (AEC)), Guillaume Carnein (Quadrille Capital), and moderator Dominic Maier (AVP (AXA Venture Partners)). In anticipation of this discussion, he recently shared his insights, addressing key industry challenges, including geographical dispersion, intensified fundraising competition, and evolving LP requirements. The interview also explores the impact of hyper-specialization on investment strategies. A key takeaway from the interview highlights Massimiliano’s perspective on hyper-specialization: "While hyper-specialization within specific verticals has become a major trend in fundraising, I believe its effectiveness lies more in attracting LPs than in actual capital deployment. It can be reassuring for asset managers as it mirrors practices from public market allocations. But while we develop strong theses around promising sectors, we also recognize the importance of leaving room for #serendipity and founder-driven innovation. For example, a strictly AI-focused fund in the early days might have missed out on NVIDIA, given their initial focus on GPUs for video games, which later became fundamental to AI development. Therefore, when talking to LPs, we emphasize a balanced approach: demonstrating sector expertise while remaining open to unexpected opportunities".
