Have you noticed unusual shifts in your analytics data recently? 🤔 Sites using Google Merchant Center (GMC) have reported odd changes in their GA4 and Google Search Console (GSC) data due to the new srsltid parameter. 🔍 What’s happening? Google has expanded its use of GMC’s srsltid parameter from shopping results to organic SERP, impacting reporting. Now, clicks on these parameterised URLs are being incorrectly attributed to GMC, messing up your analytics reports. 🛑 Why does this matter? This change affects how your organic search traffic is tracked, with traffic from organic results being attributed to GMC feeds. It skews your ranking data and may make it seem like your canonical URLs aren’t performing as well. 📊 Key Takeaway Your data is impacted if you’re using GMC, GA4, and GSC.
