As South Africa has struggled with blackouts and power issues over the years, load shedding has entered the everyday speech of South Africans. Last May, Google searches for the term peaked at an all-time high — a sign of the growing power crisis in the country. This year, load shedding has pummeled South African businesses. Blue chip companies from Multichoice to Telkom to Mr Price have recorded huge losses due to power outages. Earlier this year, Multichoice reported a staggering 200% decline in profits according to MyBroadband. TechCabal reported that Telkom announced a 76% plunge in profitability while Mr Price lost over 318,000 trading hours due to load shedding resulting in $54M losses. With embedded hybrid solar solutions, South African businesses can protect themselves against load shedding and regain energy security. At Daystar Power, we design, install, operate, and maintain embedded hybrid solar projects. We seamlessly integrate solar power and battery storage within existing power setups. Our solar systems: ✅ Guarantee 99% uptime ✅ Deliver cost savings of up to 30% ✅ Reduce carbon emissions ✅ Operate with real-time monitoring for optimal performance With embedded solar, South African businesses can stay connected to the grid while having a reliable backup power source. Are you ready to add solar into your energy mix? Get in touch: https://loom.ly/h-zKipg Cited sources: 1️⃣ https://loom.ly/hpFzl0I 2️⃣ https://loom.ly/03-0w1s 3️⃣ https://loom.ly/hRceSoQ

One year ago, a group of developers came together in support of a common vision – how can we #collaborate to support offshore wind development in the New England and Maritimes regions, helping them to achieve their clean energy goals by working across state and international borders, while keeping #stakeholders and #communities at the center of the conversation? The result was the creation of the Coalition for a New England - Maritimes Offshore Energy Corridor, a group of US and Canadian #offshorewind, #greenhydrogen and #transmission solution developers working together in support of the development of shared offshore backbone transmission corridor that directly connects US and Canadian offshore wind resources. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past year. First, we created a truly stakeholder-led approach. Step one for us was to listen. Before creating a framework or commissioning studies, we met with over 60 stakeholder groups representing US and Canadian federal government, New England and Atlantic Canada state/provincial governments, researchers, regulators, labor interests, eNGOs, and fishery management groups to understand their goals, concerns and hurdles. Their feedback was vital to shaping how we moved forward. Next, we created a high-impact #whitepaper that outlined the benefits, technical challenges and policy considerations associated with a shared offshore backbone. This paper serves as a policy tool for decision-makers charged with meeting their region’s climate targets. The #NEMOEC Coalition’s innovative approach to leading new market development through collaborative engagement between industry and key stakeholders is already working to shift the conversation. The Province of Nova Scotia’s recently-released draft offshore wind roadmap acknowledges the potential for regional overland or subsea interconnection to bring Canada’s offshore wind resources to New England. Meanwhile, a group of eight Northeast U.S. states recently sent a letter to the US Department of Energy (DOE) Grid Deployment Office expressing their desire to form a collaborative effort with the DOE to facilitate interregional transmission planning between states, including the possibility of engaging with Canadian representatives. So what’s next? Phase 2 – a deep dive into the economic benefits of the offshore backbone approach, and we need your support! The Coalition for a New England - Maritimes Offshore Energy Corridor is looking for new members to help us continue this innovative work. Becoming a member allows you to: - Shape the debate around how the New England and Maritimes clean energy economy unfolds. - Be seen as a market leader among key decision-makers driving the clean energy transition in these two early-stage markets. - Gain priority participation in webinars, workshops, and media opportunities as we promote the findings of the new whitepaper. The Coalition for a proposed New England – Maritimes Offshore Energy Corridor (NEMOEC) is proud to be accepting new members! Today we have officially launched ‘Phase 2’ of our work to support the development of a shared offshore backbone #transmission corridor that directly connects US and Canadian #offshorewind resources. Our vision for transformative #interregional electricity infrastructure is to build a cleaner and more resilient regional grid while minimizing #stakeholder impacts and helping both regions meet their #renewableenergy needs. Phase 2 will take a deep dive into analyzing the economic growth potential resulting from this shared backbone approach. A new white paper will explore the economic impact of the Corridor, seeking to quantify the expected increase in offshore wind deployment and the associated economic benefits. As we continue to grow the tent, we are especially keen to bring in members of the offshore wind #supplychain, who will benefit from building a more robust and sustainable regional marketplace. New members of the #NEMOEC Coalition have the opportunity to build relationships with key stakeholders in the region through our collaborative efforts, shape the the debate around how the New England and Maritimes clean energy economy unfolds, and gain priority participation in webinars, workshops, and media opportunities as we promote the findings of the new whitepaper. Tylor Norris on x: “I can’t recall the last time I was so concerned about the US energy trajectory, as major utilities maneuver for mass gas capacity expansion in the face of load growth. Unless course is changed, US 2030/2035 GHG goals are effectively dead.” Good thing there’s a solution: Click this link to learn about the https://lnkd.in/gnNqRmtP Energy Positive Living Coalition

GIS Applications in Utility Sector Utility management is one of basic need of the modern infrastructure management. Investment made on different utility supply lines ex. Water, sewage, power lines telephone lines. Components of utility should be functional without any breakdown. And it very difficult to manage it manually, so geographic data provides spatial dimensions to its management. In GIS database, integrated information is stored and also database with functionalities of query making, statistical analysis with visualization capability and geographic analysis is the advantages of GIS maps. So we can recognize that GIS mapping is beneficial in utility management and information system. Through GIS actual distribution of utility lines can possible to show. And it can possible to represent with roads, buildings, and land ownership boundaries. GIS techniques is ideal in terms of various aspects, representing infrastructure of utilities, problem identification with providing solution, in maintenance, technical problems, designing efficient meter reading. Successful utility management possible by using GIS techniques. GIS maps are important in management of underground utilities.
