I co-create impactful solutions for a just and net zero transition | Community Empowerment | Transformational Change
💥 Community Energy is the Real Power House of Australia's Transition 💥 It's my first time at the Community Energy Congress by the C4CE - Coalition for Community Energy and it won't be the last! An incredible line up of industry leading speakers as well as REAL community members driving energy transformation for to seize the benefits. It's been a conference with REAL information and REAL innovation that will have direct impact for people, by people. Because if the energy transition isn't happening for the public good, why are we doing it? Some of my favourite quotes and speakers are below (paraphrased). - 'the best story we have to motivate us is the community story' ~ Saul Griffith - 'the experience of the transition is not going to be felt equally' ~ Brendan French - 'First Nations communities have been the last line of defense against the destruction of nature and fossil fuels, and they are the first line of preservation' ~ Lauren Mellor from Original Power I cannot wait for a jam-packed day 2. You can join this conference online - link here: https://lnkd.in/gtQqK9Uj #communityimpact #communityenergy #peoplepower #energytransition #regionalenergytransition #firstnationspeople #firstnationsenergy #communitydriven #collaboration

It was great to listen in on this insightful roundtable discussion earlier this week! Read more below ⬇
In light of this morning’s election results, what new regulations could be put in place as a step towards clean energy in the UK? And how might this be implemented on a practical level? This topic, and more, was discussed at Buro Happold’s London office earlier this week as part of an Insider Media event – ‘Mapping the route to clean energy’. Alasdair Young, Partner and Global Energy Transition Leader, Buro Happold, was part of the roundtable of industry experts. Discussing the route to clean energy, many topics were covered. The group agreed that, in order to meet net zero nationally, decarbonising the grid was of the upmost importance to improve investor confidence, and enable investors to see grid connections for whole developments. The need for reforming the perception on renewable energy was also discussed – both from corporate consumers on the grid capacity and price, as well as the general public. The group delved into technologies that are key for unlocking sustainable innovation, including improving energy efficiency in buildings, as well as policy regulation and creating certainty around planning licensing and forward investment. Alasdair, in a Business Briefing video with South East Business Insider Editor Saptarshi Ray, summarised the three key takeaways from the session, which included upgrading the grid for future needs, unblocking planning, and as Alasdair said, “building support for consumers, how they can get involved and how they can benefit from the energy transition, and that will get the UK economy motoring as well.” Watch the video below for more details. #cleanenergy #UK #energyreform #election #windpower #solarpower #sustainabletechnologies #innovation #development #investment #engineering #BuroHappold #energyreform #grid #forwardinvestment #renewableenergy #energy

Devoting my full expertise to working on climate change, the defining issue of this generation - but also enjoying myself while doing so!
Happy that Foresight is putting the spotlight on what the new EU policy cycle should do on heating and cooling. The Cool Heating Coalition is here to support strong action to decarbonise the sector, especially ensuring that the transition fossils-clean is done in a way that citizens can profit from and engage in this transition. This means investment, which the EU needs to leverage.
The heating challenge facing Europe’s new leadership Accelerating the rollout of decarbonised, renewable and affordable heating and cooling means energy sovereignty and a host of co-benefits for EU industry and citizens alike. The new European Commission leadership must act now to position heating and cooling decarbonisation as a key pillar for the 2024-2029 policy cycle, says Delia Villagrasa of the Cool Heating Coalition Listen now: https://lnkd.in/dcpmQqz5

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has launched an $11 million request for proposals for consultants and experts to advise the state about on-street charging solutions. Solving the issue with on-street charging for electric vehicles should unlock greater adoption in communities with high density, multi-tenant housing. Lack of charging infrastructure is constantly cited as one of the biggest obstacles to EV purchases among likely buyers.
