Guess what I spotted at Dunedin airport? The Black Jersey What does this Jersey mean? It depends who you ask I imagine To teams that play the All Blacks they probably know that they’re going to be in for a battle To NZ rugby players it’s what most aspire to become, to put that black jersey on or perhaps to create a legacy or to honour that legacy of all the greats that played before them and leave it in a better place once they have moved on. The one thing that everyone can learn from is the standards that the All Blacks set is a continual drive for excellence and that winning is everything. In an age where participation is rewarded without the pressure to get a result, have we become to soft and accepting of “ AVERAGE or PARTICIPATION MEDALS?” You either create a focus on winning or a focus on participation. Which one do you prefer? Is the focus on winning to outdated? Be great to get your comments. Do you agree? #sales #salestraining #salestrainer

It's the jersey, the club, the family and history... All of these things are former New Zeland player Sean Fitzpatrick's comments on playing rugby. Demonstrating dedication and passion for the game. "When you pull on that jersey, you're not just playing for a rugby club, you're playing for a family and a history that goes back over a century." In my opinion the words empahise the importance of teamwork, love of the job, the perseverance and camaraderie that are important to Sean. Do you know what is important to the individuals in your team, what makes them tick or where their boundaries are drawn? If you can't answer yes, maybe consider asking them at your next one - to - one with them. #managementdevelopment #managementtips #managementskills

Picture the pressure. But thanks to his prep—studying opponents and jotting down their penalty preferences—Pickford made that crucial save and propelled England forward. This isn’t just a football story; it’s a lesson for all of us. Here’s the kicker: Do Your Homework: Want to outsmart the competition? Dive deep into understanding your market and competitors. Knowledge is your secret weapon. Prepare for the Unexpected: Pickford planned for every possible penalty direction. We should do the same with our business strategies. What if Plan A doesn’t work? Be ready with Plan B, C, and D. Use Data Wisely: Data isn’t just numbers; it’s insights. Use it to make informed decisions and stay ahead of the game. So, are you ready to embrace the power of preparation in your professional life? Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about being ready to seize the moment. #Preparation #ProfessionalDevelopment #BusinessInsights #Success PS: This strategy was not a one-off. How do you respond when asked to play a role less than you desire? I remember the #DetroitTigers of the 1970s, and Gates Brown. He wanted to be a starting outfielder. And he did start occasionally. But he made the record books as a pinch hitter. See the records he still holds below. I think of Manu Ginoblli with the San Antonio Spurs. The 6th man. Led the second team. Now in the HoF. I could go on. Our job is to do the best in the role we are given. Not complain, not do less than our best. I believe when we do that things will work out. How do you serve in those roles? #personalgrowth #ProfessionalSuccess #intentionalliving

Tonight see's the return of FA Cup Football. Maidstone United become the first team outside the top five divisions to play in the fifth round since 1978. Maidstone Utd are a club that went bankrupt in 1992 and were forced to start again in the fourth division of the Kent County League (dropping 12 leagues in the process), Maidstone are the epitome of an underdog story. Every underdog story provides a powerful lesson of resilience and determination. Both qualities are needed if you are to triumph against all odds. When an underdog wins it reminds us that greatness often emerges from unexpected places. Ultimately, Maidstone Utd getting to the fifth round of the FA Cup serves as a beacon of hope. It proves that with passion, perseverance, and a refusal to be defined by limitations, anything is possible. Running a smaller business in a competitive market, nothing gives me more inspiration then watching the David's beat the Goliaths of the world. I, for one, will be watching tonight with the hope that Maidstone can remind the world that with teamwork, determination, and desire the possibilities are endless! #underdog #challenge #FACup #Maidstone #Coventry

It’s not how you start, but how you finish ✅ Focus on the end game - I’m back with another Rugby themed post, so you guessed it! It must be Friday 😀 In 1905 a match between England and other nationalities was played at Bradford. England won 26–11 even though they were losing at half-time. Wigan's Jim Leytham scored a record four tries in succession. Whether a team game or business, things aren’t always plain sailing. It can be hard work trying to achieve our goals. So, knowing what to say to your team, even when they have their heads down, can make all the difference. What do you think the England manager told the England Team at half time that made them come out fighting to win their game? The Emotional Toll of Leadership: Gareth Southgate's Journey to the Final Having watched Gareth Southgate’s interview after England’s 2-1 win over Holland, I can't help but feel immense sympathy for him. Observing his body language, the sheer relief of reaching the final was palpable. After facing heavy criticism and ridicule throughout the tournament, you could see the weight of the pressure and anxiety lift from his shoulders at that moment. Regardless of the outcome in the final, the immense pressure of being England’s manager has undeniably taken a toll on his overall well-being. It's not surprising that he might consider stepping down from the role after this intense journey. Kudos to Gareth Southgate and the England team for reaching the Euros final, despite not being considered the best team in the tournament. It's a one-off game now, and anything can happen. They'll go into the game with confidence, potentially more relaxed, and ready to play to their full potential. Question: How do pressures and emotions impact Gareth Southgate's personal life, and what effects can such intense scrutiny have on his overall well-being? #Southgate #EnglandManager #Euros2024 #MentalHealth #LeadershipStress #FinalsPressure #EnglandvsHolland #Football #GarethSouthgate #TeamEngland #football #eurosfinals #mentaltoughness #UEFA #FIFA #leadership #EnglandManager #Euros2024 #MentalHealthMatters #LeadershipStress #FinalPressure #EnglandvsHolland #Football #EmotionalToll #Wellbeing #SportPsychology #FinalCountdown #CourageUnderFire #ManagerialChallenges #SupportSouthgate

#GullytoGlory Jamie Vardy's Unlikely Rise to Stardom 🌟 Imagine a regular guy, Jamie Vardy, working odd jobs and playing in the lower leagues, dreaming big but seemingly far from the glitz of the Premier League. At 29, an age where many consider the twilight of their sports career, Vardy was just getting started. His story takes a turn when he joins Leicester City, becoming a key player in their miraculous Premier League win in 2016, defying the astonishing 5000/1 odds. 🎰 Vardy's journey from the grassroots to the pinnacle of English football is not just inspiring; it's a reminder of the relentless pursuit of dreams. His record-breaking 11 consecutive Premier League goals were not just about scoring, they were statements of #resilience, #determination, and the spirit of an underdog. As someone who's always believed in the power of perseverance, Vardy's story deeply resonates with me. It's a testament to the fact that it's never too late to chase your dreams, no matter how distant they seem. ⚽💭 How does Jamie Vardy's incredible journey inspire you in your pursuits? My Football Adventures: A “Self-Motivation” story. Through self-motivation, relentless practice, and studying the game's greats, the intention of playing not just for fun but in a team began to seem achievable when I joined up to play in this Football Match. With encouraging words, leading by example, and always pushing others to believe in themselves as much as they did, the team's atmosphere transformed. We fostered a belief that together, we could rise above our ranks, play better, and win. My moment of glory wasn’t far behind. In this crucial match, with the team's hopes hanging by a thread. One goal came, a slick maneuver past the defense, a shot fired into the net. Then another, a testament to determination, fighting through fatigue and pressure. And then, miraculously, a third – a hat-trick of goals that seemed to defy belief. It was Unbelievably Magical. As the final whistle blew, victory was ours, but it was more than just a win; it was a testament to what belief, motivation, and teamwork could achieve. The team, once underdogs, had been transformed into champions, with me, not just a player, but a leader who had shown that the greatest victories often start with a single step of self-motivation.
