Comment below! 👇 What was one of your biggest achievements in your professional career? I’ll start…… When I first joined Konecranes, my team felt like it was us against the world. I was faced with a few statements that I was determined to prove wrong. 1. "You'll have pretty high turnover with this group; you'll be lucky to last a year as well." 2. "This area never gets over $X amount a year in revenue." 3. "This group never takes part in the annual Christmas dinner. Maybe 2-3 techs will show up, but that's it." After my first 2 years, we only had 1 person leave, and that was because they were moving to another state. In the first 3 years, we increased our revenue by 21-35% and never fell below the initial threshold that we were told we would never exceed. But the greatest accomplishment I believe I achieved was our first Christmas party after my first full year. Every single tech we had and their families showed up to our dinner, Over 25 individuals! Through servant leadership, deliberate actions to take care of my people, sticking my neck out for them when they might not have deserved it, and a strong will to see them succeed, I fostered an environment where they felt cared for and appreciated. To me, that's worth more than revenue. That’s my greatest achievement.

🛳️ LOOK - A BIG SHIP 🛳️ 🤭 Ok, ok so this post isn’t going to be about the big ship, although fun fact… this big ship is the now retired HMS Belfast docked at The Queen’s Walk near Tower Bridge, and is also a museum… very cool 🤭 💡On another note, I would like to share a little thought about a different type of ship… COMRADESHIP … why I am grateful for it and why everyone should have it💡 ⭐️ Today I travelled to London to meet with my esteemed resilience colleagues Jayne Romanczuk MBCI and James L. and what an absolute treat it was (I never say that lightly). In a few short hours together we were able to ideate, share challenges, find new opportunities and value create. Not bad by any stretch… ⭐️ 🛟 Arguably you could achieve most of these things with any colleague, after all, we are all here to achieve the same goals for our organisation. But it’s not just that… you need great comradeship to make the best of that value. Comrades are the people who you are 💯 certain would throw you the life raft when you need it the most - always there for you in the good times and the bad 🛟 🤩 And lucky me….because I have firm comrades in my colleagues. They always make my day brighter and make me a better version of myself both professionally and personally. Another result of being in the same job for a long time is that people normally get better at their job. Think about a seasoned actor or baseball player. It takes time to get good at what they do.
