Ahmed is one of our invaluable community volunteers who supports us at Alpha Land. We hold language classes, computer skills lessons, CV-making sessions, activities for kids, support groups, and sports. We also register people for clothes distribution so they can find new outfits for free in our 'free shop.' It has been quite busy recently, so having Ahmed support us has been super helpful! We wouldn't be able to ensure that our services were meeting the needs of the people we serve as best we could without our community volunteers. They are the backbone of our work. !!شكرًا احمد Find out more on how you can support our work today, or join us at https://lnkd.in/dhk9rWSQ #SamosVolunteers #Volunteer #Greece #NGO #Refugees #RefugeesWelcome #Solidarity #HumanitarianAid #PsychosocialSupport #InformalEducation #Community #Empowerment #SafeSpace #EuropeMustAct #SafeAndLegalRoutes

In Nigeria, the journey to inclusive education faces significant hurdles, particularly in public schools, where resources and specialized support for children with learning disabilities are often lacking. These students encounter numerous obstacles, including limited access to tailored educational materials, insufficient teacher training in special education, and societal stigma surrounding disabilities. As a result, many children with learning disabilities struggle to thrive academically, leading to decreased educational attainment and diminished opportunities for their future. Addressing these challenges requires a concerted effort to implement effective strategies that promote inclusivity, provide adequate support, and foster a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed. Tune in by 5pm on 99.9 Kiss Fm as we proffer solutions to these hurdles. Educational interruptions due to the pandemic, climate disasters, and war have affected nearly every child on Earth since 2020. Syrian refugee children living in camps in Lebanon are no exception: they often don't have enough to eat, let alone access to traditional preschool. But early childhood education is critical. Yes, it's important to know how to read and write, but childhood education curriculums also provide learning opportunities beyond academics. Preschool allows children to hone their motor and social-emotional skills, and helps improve their quality of play. When children can't be taught in a traditional preschool classroom, how can you reach them? Well, that's where remote learning comes in. The largest-ever humanitarian intervention in early childhood education shows encouraging signs that remote learning can produce results comparable to a year of in-person teaching, allowing children in crisis situations to have access to vital developmental resources.

🌟 Zeitwohnen Update 06/24: Fostering Fair Educational Opportunities for All 🌟 My latest issue addresses a critical topic: the starting opportunities for children, particularly those from refugee and disadvantaged backgrounds. 🔍 Key Insights: 1. Educational Inequality: Despite Germany’s inclusive education system, children’s success is heavily influenced by their socioeconomic and migrant backgrounds. - Only 20% of children from low-income, migrant backgrounds attend grammar school, compared to 47% of non-migrant children. - Children with a migrant background achieve the German “A-levels” at a rate of 29%, while 47% of German children do. 2. Impact on Refugee Children: Refugee children face numerous challenges, including language barriers and complex school systems, leading to lower educational achievements. - Refugee children in some states start school 3-6 months after arrival, causing significant delays in their education. 3. Political Recommendations: - Standardized, immediate childcare enrollment for refugee children upon receiving residential permits. - Creation of heterogeneous classes to prevent segregation and promote integration. - Improved permeability in the school system to allow for easier transitions into higher education programs. 🏠 Housing and Integration: Decentralized, private housing for refugees is crucial for better integration and early childhood education, breaking the cycle of social isolation and enhancing future opportunities. Join me in shaping a fairer future for all children. Your insights and dialogue are invaluable. #Education #RefugeeSupport #Childcare #Integration #EqualOpportunities #HousingSolutions #Wunderflats #HelfendeWände

Respecting and understanding the culture and language of beneficiaries is crucial for the success of any humanitarian or educational initiative, especially when working with students and children. When we take the time to learn about their traditions, values, and language, we not only create more effective programs but also foster a sense of belonging and trust. For children, feeling loved and understood is essential for their growth. When they see that their culture is valued, they are more likely to engage positively and feel confident in their learning environment. This builds stronger relationships and promotes mutual respect. Also, by honoring local customs and communicating in a way that resonates with the community, humanitarian workers and educators create a nurturing space where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to thrive. #Empowerment #Education #Rural #CommunityDevelopmentProject #SofalaProvince #BebedoLocality
