I’ll try to keep it short but I have an excuse - I am brimming with joy. This work is particularly close to our heart for various reasons. My first reason - The team behind this, who kept their hopes high and passion intact for months, never letting the fire die. We began working on it in December 2023. And since then it was just like a ride on a roller coaster for months. It started with the launch of the #GalaxyS24 Series. We saw this idea take birth in our deck, we saw it die for so many circumstantial reasons, we saw it coming back to life again, and we saw it growing into something bigger and better - from a simple, beautiful “innovative” print ad to an even more impactful “Print Innovation”. My second reason - It’s a beautiful piece of work. It’s not just a print ad, it’s so much more. And, I remember how it started! Teams at Samsung and Cheil were burning their brains, thinking hard on how do we tell people about the simplicity yet impactfulness of Circle to Search; how do we explain that a circle is your window to finding anything you were ever curious about. And, that thought itself gave us the answer. We literally made a window. But that wasn’t enough! How do we make it big too? We worked. And, reworked. And, reworked some more. That’s when bringing it alive made the perfect sense - making people experience the real power of Circle to Search themselves. And, it worked so beautifully. I heard someone even say, “It’s a newspaper from the Harry Potter world (Can YOU Imagine).” My third reason - Advertising! As tiring and demanding it can be sometimes, it’s also satisfying, inspiring, and yielding at the same time. If I could just measure the amount of passion that went behind in bringing this project to life, we’d need a new measuring system. I’m not even talking about the sleepless nights and days that went working on it, I’m talking about the sleepless night one day before the release. The creative team sharing their excitement over texts at 3 AM in the night is etched in my heart forever - “Can’t sleep! I’m so excited for the morning” “I am just imagining that in some corner of India someone is bundling up these newspapers to ship them off” And, holding the print for the first time was worth all this hard work, and all this time. Biggest thank you to the EPIC, coolest Samsung Team for being game about this - Shilpa Puri Karishma Malpani Thank you to the best supervisor for his continuous guidance - Vikash Chemjong. Even though the data from #Canalys shows a tie between #Vivo and #Xiaomi in shipments, the agency has captioned the news showing Xiaomi as the No. 1 after 6 quarters. The figure taken by them includes Xiaomi and #Poco it says. As per #IDC based on the combined data for Xiaomi and Poco, Xiaomi was already No. 1 in Q1 as it showed an 18.7% share ahead of Samsung at 16.2%. Even if we take the overall data from IDC for 2023, Xiaomi and Poco combined had a share of 17.3% against a 17% share of Samsung. I don't understand why Xiaomi waited for Canalys to announce them as the No. 1 after 6 quarters in Q2 2024, when on the parameters used by Canalys they were already No. 1 as per IDC in 2023 as a whole.😃 Wake up guys.
