As an assistant, striking the delicate balance between serving and leading is no easy task. Your ability to prioritize what matters most to the individual you support is paramount, often shining through in moments when your leadership is put to the test. Operating behind the scenes is where you excel, ultimately driving the success of those you assist. A recent encounter with a former colleague, with whom I had minimal interaction, shed light on the impact of my leadership. It was only when they witnessed the results of individuals I had trained that they truly grasped the extent of my influence. Those are the moments that affirm that you are on the right track. Navigating the fine line between supporting your leader and stepping into the limelight on their behalf is a skill in itself.
