#2025 opportunity market. The challenges and emerging opportunities for the new year are the leading theme for the event organised by the city mayor of Povoa de Lanhoso. We live in an era of two transitions/transformations, the green and digital, with a profound impact on the future of humanity. Most importantly, these transitions are not evolving in parallel but will converge in 2025, when AI will take sustainability as the main driver. Energy is at the core of such an intersection. AI´s demand for energy is tremendous and is boosting exponentially. Demand is higher than the current capacity to build a renewable solution. Innovation is urgent for the sake of our common future. At the same time, in 2025, Climate Capitalism will be commonly recognised as the coming economic model. In the convergence of need, innovation opportunity and economic viability, #AI will be used in the #greentransition, paving the way for the fifth evolutionary stage of sustainability or #sustainability50. It is a privilege and great honour to present my view on this emerging opportunity. It will also be interesting to revisit it by the end of the year and re-evaluate it.

By now, there have been many posts about the palpable energy felt in Davos this week, so I'll skip that part (but yes, that's a fact) and instead focus on the main points I took away from several amazing events: 1. Compassion - I am sorry, Mark (Zuckerberg), but no, we don't need more masculine energy - we need more compassionate and inclusive energy - especially in places of power. 2. Data - “Its the economy, stupid.”Whether its diversity, inclusion or sustainability, we need to talk facts, less emotions. Decision-makers want to see data, so lets show them. 3. Health - Climate crisis is a Health crisis. We should call it "Farm to Stomach" instead "Farm to Fork". 4. AI - AI for good - and for all. We can still shape non-biased AI through creation and usage - and it can bring humanity forward. You didnt manage to visit this year? Make sure you visit next year. 2moIf AI really leads to tripling of energy consumption in Europe, I wonder what kind of Europe we will then have. That would mean that only a third of the energy would be available for living, working, mobility, producing industry.... But what we urgently need - in addition to satisfying our personal needs - is genuine re-industrialisation and a focus on producing high-quality products for global markets. So a large part of the energy should then flow into this. AI will be powerful assistant but hopefully not the centre of our efforts.
