So today marks the start of baby loss awareness week, culminating in the wave of light next Tuesday As with every year I’ll be posting a little more this week focusing on how important it is to talk about baby loss, to break the taboo that exists and to try to support those that have gone through similar to my family. The crazy fact is if you look around your office today, 1 in 4 people sat there based on the stats will have suffered baby loss, whether that be miscarriage, loss during pregnancy or neo-natal baby loss. And yet it’s not talked about. People are left to manage the situation often on their own, at a time that is more isolating and difficult than many other life experiences I’m privileged to get to tell Isaac’s story, to talk to medical professionals, groups of people through the work I do with Sands - baby loss charity and the Evelina at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and even to the Government select committee, and that helps me massively. But hopefully talking openly also helps people realise they are not alone. When Isaac died I had no idea of the level of isolation that we would feel. People struggling to talk because they don’t want to cause upset or found the topic awkward to talk about. But the reality - at a time when we should have had noise everywhere with a crying little one, instead we had silence…..and the lack of talk about what had happened added to that silence, almost as if Isaac didn’t and had never existed. So hopefully this Baby Loss Awareness week we can continue to break the taboo, have open conversations about the topic, hopefully get some big well known buildings turning pink and blue in memory of all those that have grown their wings too soon, and on Tuesday take part in the wave of light lighting candles all around the world creating that wave in memory of the little ones. If anyone wants to talk, or any companies would like me to tell Isaac’s story I’m more than happy always to talk about it. I won’t deny … it will be emotional, but for us it is part of Isaac’s legacy and that’s what’s important #BLAW2025 #Breakthesilence #Breakthetaboo #Waveoflight #togetherwecare

💭 It can sometimes be hard to find the right words. Share this post with whoever needs to read it ahead of Baby Loss Awareness Week. Baby Loss Awareness Week is a time for us to come together, remember our babies, and raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss. This year's theme is Together, we care. We care for ourselves and each other as part of a community of people affected by all forms of pregnancy and baby loss. Self-care is essential, so you can sustain yourself and be able to get involved in a way that's right for you. If that means sitting this one out, that's fine. If that means you will just join us for the #WaveOfLight, or by turning #PinkAndBlue, that's fine too. However, you choose to take part this year, or not, remember, the Baby Loss Awareness Week Alliance is always here for you and your babies, and that should always come first💖💙 The #BLAW Alliance is here to support you, whenever you need it ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/exbixyg 📵 If it is feeling a bit too much for you this year, remember you can mute or unfollow any account at any time, or step back from social media completely.

Chartered Water Environmental Manager Promoting Nature-based Solutions for biodiversity, people and place
Today marks the first day of Baby Loss Awareness Week. In the UK 50% of adults will be affected, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. This is an still a taboo subject, people don't want to say the wrong thing or upset you. This fear is one that often stops people from saying anything and to protect privacy colleagues aren't made aware what you're going through. Some companies have buried policies for this loss, some don't have any, yet 50% of staff may need help. It's a loss that is often met with silence, that silence and the loss are all encompassing, like being swallowed in fog. This is a loss I know. This is help I needed. This is a fog I am still in. I want to acknowledge the strength and resilience of those who have faced similar losses. It’s a reminder of the importance of compassion and support in the workplace, and leading with kindness. We must create environments where people feel safe to share their struggles and receive the understanding and support they need. #babyloss #babylossawarenessweek #support #compassion #wellbeing #kindness #BLAW I've written, rewritten, scrapped and struggled to write this including facial leakage. That's not to say it's a literary masterpiece. It isn't. But it is honest.

🌟 Empowering Campaigns: How Emotional Advertising Can Transform Perspectives 🌈 As we celebrate Women's Day 2024, I came across a remarkable ad campaign by Prega News, titled #SheCanCarryBoth. This emotionally charged narrative follows a pregnant teacher who defies conventions, continuing to teach her students until the last moment, emphasizing the incredible strength women possess in balancing both career and motherhood. 👩🏫 Honoring Women's Strength: The power of this campaign lies in its ability to celebrate and honor the multifaceted nature of women. By showcasing a pregnant teacher dedicating herself to her profession and successfully delivering a healthy baby, #SheCanCarryBoth challenges societal norms and recognizes the inherent strength women bring to every aspect of their lives. 🌐 Connecting with the Audience: Such emotionally resonant campaigns go beyond mere product promotion; they connect with the audience on a profound level. In an era where consumers seek authenticity, brands that craft narratives reflecting real-life struggles and triumphs establish a deeper connection. Prega News, through this campaign, not only advertises its product but also champions a cause that resonates with its target audience. 🌍 Spreading Awareness and Positivity: Advertising has the power to influence societal perceptions, and campaigns like #SheCanCarryBoth contribute positively to cultural dialogue. By portraying women as capable and resilient, it challenges stereotypes and fosters a more inclusive mindset. Brands taking up the mantle of social responsibility contribute to creating a world where kindness and understanding flourish. 🤝 Brands as Agents of Change: In a world saturated with advertising noise, brands that choose to be agents of change stand out. Emotional and inspiring campaigns not only boost brand loyalty but also shape a collective consciousness that values empathy and appreciation for individual struggles. This, in turn, contributes to making the world a better place filled with compassionate individuals. 💬 Join the Conversation: What are your thoughts on brands using emotional narratives to connect with their audience? Share your favorite campaigns that left a lasting impact on you. Let's discuss how advertising can go beyond product promotion and become a force for positive change! 🚀 #emotionaladvertising #socialimpact #brandconnection #womensday2024 #buildingtrust #changemakers
