UTS London by Builder.ai was such a blast! Sold out crowds at the Copper Box Arena for 3 days, a boiling atmosphere, and an amazing level of tennis, embodied by the thrilling final between Alex de Minaur and Holger Rune.
The UTS Tour Grand Final was truly tennis like never before!
Now that our season is over, it’s time to take a step back to reflect on the incredible journey 2024 has been, developing UTS Tour according to the disruptive vision of our founder Patrick Mouratoglou.
Here are 4 takeaways from 2024:
1) The crowds love UTS Tour because it feels right as a spectator. You shouldn’t be afraid to talk, move or cheer when you attend a sports event. UTS gives you the freedom to enjoy tennis matches in the stadium the way you like. London fans quickly understood it: when the packed arena started chanting mid-point like in a football stadium, we hit a new all-time high in terms of atmosphere. Goosebumps on my end!
2) The players love our format, and we can propose super appealing rosters to fans and viewers. We were proud to have more than half of the top 20 on UTS Tour this past year. And were equally thrilled to have fan favorites on the roster like Kyrgios, Monfils, Bublik or Shapovalov. So much variety in characters and playing styles, such a thrill to watch and follow!
3) The intensity and seriousness of UTS Tour is now clearly recognized. Thanks to our rules, we suppressed the moments of downtime of “normal tennis” and we play 70% more points per hour than on the traditional tour. The rhythm is fast and furious, and you just need to look at the players trying to catch their breath after each rally to see that they are giving it all on the court. The UTS format is demanding for the players, and they have to fight like crazy if they want to be winning at it.
4) Innovation is our DNA. Modernizing tennis and making it relevant to new fans is our motto. Timed quarters, no let, one serve only, VAR, …Each UTS event we try to add new features of modernity, our satisfaction surveys show that fans love it, and we will keep doing so in the future!
I would like to thank warmly all stakeholders who made the 2024 season possible, and especially our global partners Builder.ai, ZENITH Watches and Finseta who bring so much to our events - amazing to build this together.
Now we start preparing for 2025 with two amazing locations already announced! Our first ever event in Latin America will take place in vibrant Guadalajara in February. And we will continue with an iconic French venue in April : the 12 000 seater colisseum of Nîmes, a 1st century gladiator arena that fits so well UTS Tour, where a sold out crowd will see our star players battle on a temporary clay court.
