When people ask me about Generus, I show them this video🧡 If you or your company want to make a difference like this, let’s connect!
We’re tearing up over the heartwarming video we just received from Agape Oasis 🧡 Agape Oasis provides culturally-relevant services aimed at empowering people, restoring families, and strengthening communities. And #TeamGenerus recently delivered blankets lovingly crafted by Pohlad Companies employee volunteers to the Agape preschool. The school serves as a safe haven for many young children who are often exposed to domestic violence at home and gun violence in their neighborhoods. These blankets will help create cozy reading nooks, comfortable napping areas, and soothing spaces to promote emotional recovery and regulation. We are proud to partner with Agape Oasis, as they work to provide the tools and resources needed for families to thrive past trauma and build their best lives. 💙 Thank you to the Pohlad employee volunteers for your compassion and commitment to making a difference. Together, we are helping to create a welcoming and safe environment for families in need. #BeGenerus #CollectiveImpact _____________ P.S. If you’re reading this, your company can get involved as well! Host a Generus event with us this year to support nonprofits across the U.S. :)

Project Fed Hope: Fueling Compassion, One Bite at a Time In the tapestry of our community, threads of hardship and hunger can sometimes intertwine. Project Fed Hope aims to mend these threads, offering a helping hand to those in need while supporting local businesses on their journey. Our mission is twofold: To nourish and uplift: Each month, we come together to purchase packaged meals from struggling hawkers. These delicious offerings then become beacons of hope, distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness, the elderly facing isolation, or anyone feeling the pangs of hunger. To empower and collaborate: By supporting local businesses, we inject a dose of encouragement into their efforts. In turn, they provide affordable, convenient meals for our food distribution, creating a beautiful synergy of support. Joining the Fed Hope family is as simple as your desire to make a difference: Become a Food Hero: Join our monthly gatherings (every last Wednesday, 6pm, venue TBA based on hawker selection) Spread the warmth: Invite others to join the cause, fostering a network of compassion within our community. Contribute from the heart: There's no obligation to give beyond your means. Five packets or fifty, every contribution carries equal weight in the eyes of hope. Project Fed Hope isn't just about filling bellies; it's about igniting kindness, fostering connections, and reminding everyone that a small gesture can ripple with far-reaching impact. Join us, and let's weave a future where hunger finds no refuge, and community thrives on the fuel of compassion. #ProjectFedHope #HeartsForHumanity #bethelight #singapore

I know it’s really difficult for Social Care and Political Leaders to get their heads around but safe loving families and “service users” really do know best. A choice based system will radically transform outcomes AND radically improve value for money and productivity. Will our political leaders and social care leaders have the vision, the wisdom and the compassion to finally talk to the choice committed voices currently at the margins in terms of social policy and practice? #AmorVincitOmnia And yes that is one of the 2 Latin phrases I know.

Imagine a future where people with disabilities can access affordable housing built with principles of universal design; and the direct care (support) workforce is paid a living wage. The 2024 SOTU address envisions such a future; and 3i HoME believes it way past time (80 years, in fact, see below). #disabilityrights #accessiblehousing https://lnkd.in/eqJ-_wET
“We cannot be content if some fraction of our people ... is ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed and insecure,” declared Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his 1944 State of the Union address. In 1944, it was declared on the most public platform that, in our country, adequate housing should be a basic human right, yet today a home remains a privilege. In 2023 alone, the rate of homelessness increased by 12% across the nation. So what is the solution? The housing and healthcare crises are complex and require bold, barrier breaking solutions! We are proud to develop innovative supportive housing solutions that lead the future of independent, integrated, caring communities with adaptive technologies for adults living with a disability. Join us and support our organization with a donation today to create affordable, accessible housing for adults living with a disability at https://lnkd.in/gJcXfie6

Advocacy in #widowhood takes many forms, for one she’s not recognized as a #survivingspouse while searching for help. Although #widows are recognized as a #survivor by the IRS and SSI, she can’t find herself as a survivor in the findhelp personal filters. She still needs support with necessities like food, housing, and gas. Most importantly, she needs help covering her cell phone bill. Without it, she can't access job listings, transportation routes, or stay connected with her support systems or children. At Modern Widows Club, we've seen firsthand the impact of something as simple as a cell phone bill payment make a difference in survivorship and homelessness. Its made even harder when the systems in place to help don’t give her the option to be designated as a survivor. Yet, you can see in the image exactly who is socially accepted as a survivor. Behind every box clicked is a funded program or service. This is a clear example of social exclusion. One of the four main reasons widows suffer worldwide. It’s a very simple fix. We will keep advocating until she receives her “box” to check. That's why, when our Love For Widows benevolent fund had resources from 2020-2022, we made sure to help bridge the gap of communication for those in need. Let's continue to support and uplift the widowed community in any way we can. Especially when she needs someone to be a defender and change agent ensuring when she reaches out, she is seen. #widowadvocate #widowhoodsupport #modernwidowsclub #vulnerable #families #invisiblewomen
