In our 2024 European Hotels Investor Intentions Survey, we asked respondents what their favoured countries were for deploying capital, and Greece took fifth place. Hotel assets in Greece are attracting increasing investor demand as trading fundamentals improve, and we see a surge in interest from international brands and domestic groups for new projects. In this increasingly active market, CBRE has provided valuation advice to Hotel Investment Partners (HIP) for the financing and accounts of its resort portfolio in Greece. Feuring extends its gratitude to its clients, partners and employees who are a key part of this milestone.   On May 15, 1959, Berno-H. Feuring started this journey full of passion and expertise for the hotel industry, being this the main foundation for our legacy and our heritage, which has been maintained to this day without losing its essence. Comfort, luxury and uniqueness are part of our DNA and have been the driving force behind our leadership. Our daily motto is based on adapting to the new challenges of the sector by redefining our commitment to our customers, always keeping in mind the vision of the founder of the company as the central element of the business supported by a team of excellent professionals passionate about the hospitality industry. Since then, Feuring has developed and advised on more than 450 hotels in Europe and beyond such as La Mamounia Marrakech, Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and Hilton Frankfurt Airport. Under the management of the second generation, the company has succeeded in expanding further, laying the foundations for the management of major projects, and establishing the asset and investment management division, which now comprises a portfolio of 12 hotels in 6 European countries, with a further 5 projects under development and construction. Interesting statistic from the JLL’s bi-annual Capital Market Collective conference when inflation adjusting global capital market volumes. In 2009, we assumed the worst, in 2023 it was assumed we would find opportunities in an interest rate environment at a two decade high, impacting the cost of debt and therefore higher cost equity, insurance escalations and rate cuts right around the corner…. Now here we are in mid-2024 with insurance resembling normal growth (market specific), rates already cut in several larger GDP economies or signaling rate cuts this summer and plenty of equity ready to be deployed. If waiting for the perfect time to deploy capital and looking at a 5-7 year hold, look at the years proceding 2009….
