"𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲/𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲: _____________." That was the prompt at a recent conference session I attended - a simple yet profound question that got everyone thinking. I scribbled down my thoughts, highlighted my key points, and felt proud of the clarity I found in my answers. But then came the next part: "Now, pick a partner and share with them. Then 𝘿𝙍𝘼𝙒 their brand based on what you heard." DRAW? Uh oh. Cue hesitation and slight panic. But as I started sketching, something surprising happened - it became a fun, eye-opening process. Here's what I shared with my partner: 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴. 𝘐 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦’𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘥. But what stood out most was how my partner interpreted my brand. When she shared her drawing, she described my business as 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. Her drawing captured that energy beautifully, and it reminded me that sometimes, where words fall short, visuals connect. We all have a brand, whether we realize it or not. Ask yourself this question to deepen your personal or business mission: “𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 ___________________.” This deep reflection is essential. Otherwise, I’m just another healthcare consultant. And Starbucks could have a brand whose mission is to “make a great cup of coffee”- when, in fact, their mission is to “To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.” Why do you have a responsibility to use your voice? How would 𝘺𝘰𝘶 draw your brand? 🎨 P.S. Just yesterday Sebastian Keilich asked me: 'So what kind of people are joining the Salon'? And it made me think. Sure, we invite leaders of corporations in Germany and Europe. For us it's important to not fill the room, but rather have a wide diversity in types, thoughts and personalities with us. From HR to Innovation, Strategy, Sales, Distribution to Marketing. Women and men equally and also all ages. But there is something else which makes the Salon feel different and that is truly the people who said yes to join a format which is rather unique for Germany. These leaders leave their titles at the door. They are here as humans, curious to learn, to explore, to show up real. To sing and dance and ask the really important questions. They are change makers, pathfinders, cosmic travelers. So in short: We don't care about your title, we care about you and the community which creates together a movement which makes the business environment again more human (especially in the age of AI). A community which meets eye to eye without competitive thinking. The race we follow is the ambition to solve our UN 17 Sustainability Goals, to solve the next pandemic of mental health issues and all which arises from that. This community leads successful with impact and purpose. So, are you a leader by mindset? Ready to roll-up your sleeve and get the work done? Especially the work to hack our patterns and old consciousness? The full eclipse yesterday brought moon and sun in alignment. We continue this on April 25th at the annual Future of Leadership Salon. Just booked my flight to Rocky mountain hiighhhh....Coloradoooo! Cannot wait to gather in Denver to explore New Hope Network's inaugural Newtopia Now. Let's get in some steps together. Who amongst you are attending or planning to attend? Here's what I know: 🗓 Exhibits are open Monday Aug 26th and Tuesday Aug 27th, with events also planned for Sunday and Wednesday. 🔭 Fresh new brands will be in abundance, about 25% of participating brands are first time exhibitors. By my last count, 500 or so brands are signed up to exhibit. 🏡 Brands are organized by neighborhoods (ex. Represent, Regenerate, Thrive, Glow). This makes it easier to seek and discover brands and organizations that sync with your interests. 🤝 There are a ton of coordinated opportunities on and off the show floor to meet up beyond the booth, and plentiful opportunities to connect 1 on 1 with retailers and investors. 🕺 Even with this first edition being a smaller event, I expect the energy to be buzzing, with speaker stages, lounges and meetup experiences popping off amidst all the action within each neighborhood. *For me, a more manageable show provides more opportunity to get quality time in with friends and colleagues. 💡 Also, a score of excellent speakers covering some timely topics in CPG. One that's of particular interest to me is "Tik Tok Shop 101: From Scrolling to Spending", delivered by Cameron Gould-Saltman. The Angel Group will be out in full force on Monday and Tuesday.
