Use already proven concepts. Use off the shelf parts. Scale up or down already drawn out plans(scalability would be one new item for testing). Create a module concept. For example. You have the molds, instrument setups, and flight controls that work for a particular aircraft. Let's use proteus for example. Use the forward cabin exactly as it is on Proteus and make it attachable to any other design you want. Use the engines section of Proteus, pylons, engines etc to attach to new designs. Modules pre built. Molds that already exist. Proven effective will save time and money. Future builds with this in mind can take new cockpit arrangments and designs. Having them be adaptable as modules will save time and money. Let's call it the LEGO building approach. We already have all the parts and peices. Just put each one together rather than redesigning whole aircraft.
