Incredible tour through the Asia Pacific region and an honor to meet an incredible team🙏 These are my highlights... ⭐Tokyo, Japan: A hub for peptide biotech innovation and manufacturing. Two days were not nearly enough to explore this countries potential for peptides. ⭐Busan, Korea: I had the pleasure to visit the KPPS. It was good to step out from the western bubble to see that excellent innovation is global. We have to remove barriers and not build them if we want to make the best for humans and our environment. ⭐Shanghai, China: Hell what a team at Mesa Laboratories, Inc. - skills, dedication, focus, customer-centric. It was an honor to meet and learn from you all. ⭐Hong Kong: The Chinese Peptide Symposium showed that Gyros Protein Technologies has the right solutions for a global market. So many wonderful discussion about peptide synthesis and purification. I am looking forward to many many follow-ups. And everyone who likes big cities. Hong Kong is awesome. Great to be back and sense the dynamic vibes in Japan. It has for a number of reasons been far too long time since my last visit to Japan, thus even greater the pleasure. I have taken the opportunity to attend DIA Japan Annual Meeting to revisit and enjoy the regulatory drug development arena in Japan. Now in my current role being more on the balcony than on the dance floor, it is striking to me how much improvement has happened, not only since I first attended a PMDA meeting in Japan 30 years ago, but also in the past 5 years since my last visit to Japan. It goes across dialogue, collaboration, global perspective, science impact and not at least patient focus. An encouraging change.

A very interesting article by Patrick Branch. I urge all business leaders to read and have a think about this situation and what it means for your business. I remain hopeful about China, a simple policy change could shift things completely… without international competition, China cannot compete and be a dominant force in the world stage. Therefore opening up is an eventuality. China’s journey back to being the dominant global economy which it was dating back to the decline of the Qing Dynasty is still in progress and it cannot just be on sheer, size, volume and scale but also on quality and value added products and services. Diplomacy is required for China to compete, flourish and prosper on the world stage and vice versa for the rest of the world. 🙏🏼
