Earlier this week, I wrote on here why it's bad for democracy to not run inclusive voter outreach efforts. Here are some ways to implement an effective inclusive voter engagement campaign. I recorded this after I wrapped up a media hit with MSNBC discussing the 2024 elections and the youth vote a few weeks ago. And I wanted to share how I work with clients in creating voter engagement campaigns that resonate and mobilize voters. My work often focuses on reaching voters of color, Millennials/Gen Z, women, New Americans because they are often the communities ignored when we only focus on people who vote regularly. But these tactics can be applied broadly. Did you know that, in Massachusetts, Black, Latinx, and AAPI voters cast 13.3% of votes in 2022 but account for 26.3% of MA’s population? The good news is there is still time to register for this year’s upcoming elections! With the MA Presidential Primary just around the corner (March 5) it is critical that folks who are not registered to vote, do so by February 24th. For those who are registered and want to vote by mail, be sure to submit a vote by mail ballot application by February 27th (**Offered in a variety of languages). We understand that registering to vote and researching the candidates can be a daunting process so we want to highlight a couple organizations that offer the resources and support needed to take on the process with confidence. MA Voter Table and MassVOTE are nonpartisan nonprofit organizations seeking to increase voter registration and turnout. Gavin Newsom signed AB 2159 into law, making electronic voting a possibility for California-based community associations. The law aims to maximize voter turnout and improve the voting process in communities for more sustainable and equitable elections.
