12/21/23: We re-submitted the theme! Take 2. While rejection isn't always easy, we've learned a great deal from it. Seven months of non-stop working is a lot. With a fresh lens we decided to slow things down. We already developed new testing environments as an immediate response to what caused the rejection… was there room for improvement elsewhere? We found opportunities to refactor code, addressed things we missed, and established our own internal test cases specific to the Theme which we added as an extension to Shopify's Test Checklist. We took 7-weeks total before re-submission with no regrets. Sometimes it's important to take a step back and remain open to discover. We found it helpful in not only finding opportunities in our process but also the theme itself ✨️

I've just completed a major project that's been a journey of learning and growth. 🧠💻 I've built an e-commerce platform from the ground up using Next.js for the frontend, Tailwind CSS for styling, Sanity.io for content management, and Stripe for secure payments. 🛒💰 This project wasn't just about coding—it was about turning ideas into reality and creating a seamless shopping experience for users. 🛍️✨ From designing intuitive UIs with Tailwind CSS to setting up a robust backend with Sanity.io, every step was a challenge that pushed me to learn and adapt. 🧩🔧 Integrating Stripe for payments was particularly rewarding, knowing that our customers' financial transactions are secure and reliable. 💳🔐 But perhaps the most fulfilling aspect was seeing the project come together and serve real users. working currently on a material about returning from JS-powered headless storefronts to native Shopify (+ eventual "speed boosters") Major things mentioned when headless storefronts got roasted: - inability to release new sections, features fast as it was with "classic Liquid" - cost of developers hours (React/Vue rates were high due to startups hiring and lack of enough talent on the market) - cost of CDN (if hosted outside of the Oxygen) - Pagespeed affected by Blocking time (JS needs to be fully loaded, then processed then become interactive) Below is "classic Liquid" Shopify storefront that was switched from Nuxt powered headless storefront and using Yottaa for "speed boost" What I'm trying to figure out is how exactly Yottaa brings the speed improvement? New initiative we're testing out for ShopDev Alliance, in addition to partnerships with other Shopify Partners and Slack orgs is linking experienced devs to jobs. While referring jobs internally and posting within a channel is great, we're looking for other places to help source leads for Shopify devs who are part of our little community. That's why we're going to test out opening a place for jobs to get posted directly on the site. Jobs get funneled into a Slack channel with over 60 experienced Shopify developers looking for work who can reach out directly if interested in the role. No more blindly blasting LinkedIn, Upwork, and other spaces that are now bombarded with AI responders. Real vetted devs who really work on Shopify every day. Hai all, iam excited to share a sneak peek into my latest project - an OLX clone built with React and Firebase. This project is still a work in progress, but here's a glimpse of what I've accomplished so far: 🔹 Tech Stack: Frontend: React.js with Tailwind CSS for styling Backend: Firebase for authentication and real-time database State Management: Context API 🔹 Features Implemented: User Authentication: Secure login and registration using Firebase Auth and google auth. Ad Posting: Users can post ads with images and detailed descriptions. Real-Time Database: All ad listings are stored and fetched from Firebase in real-time. Advanced Search & Filters: To help users find exactly what they need. 🔹 Upcoming Features: Chat Functionality: Enabling direct communication between buyers and sellers. Payment Integration: For secure and seamless transactions. Profile Management: Allowing users to manage their ads and account settings.
