Check out this great drone video of our #PortLands bridge family in #Toronto from earlier this summer: https://loom.ly/gV9VQAQ As of March of this year, the multimodal #bridges at Cherry Street North, Cherry Street South and Commissioners Street have been opened to the public, providing access to the wetlands for pedestrians, cyclists and cars. We are thrilled with the construction progress and can't wait to see the completion of the surrounding parks. Don't miss a bike ride through the area the next time you find yourself in Toronto! This project was realized by #sbp together with Grimshaw and Entuitive for Waterfront Toronto. Find out more here → https://loom.ly/8ZduWoQ

Whether you're zipping under the city, crossing the harbour, or passing through a mountain, tunnels are crucial to Australia's road and rail networks. These feats of engineering, some stretching up to nine kilometres, require precise planning and constant upkeep. The research into tunnel line marking ensures safety, preventing disasters we only want to see in movies like Daylight. While most don’t notice, road markings are essential for safety. At Dolphin Line Marking, we value the CSIRO’s efforts in testing and accrediting road marking materials, ensuring durability and performance for safer travel. 🌟 #Infrastructure#Safety#Engineering#Innovation CSIRO

🚧 Unveiling the Future of Road Maintenance with the "ASTRA Bridge"! 🌉 This revolutionary mobile construction bridge for highway maintenance was developed by the Swiss company Marti Technik AG on behalf of the Swiss Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). It allows road traffic to continue flowing over the bridge while maintenance work is carried out underneath. This innovative design ensures that construction activities do not disrupt the daily commute, enhancing both efficiency and safety. 🇨🇭🦺 Advantages of the "ASTRA Bridge": ➡️ 🚗 Seamless Traffic Flow: Road traffic continues to flow over the bridge while maintenance work is carried out underneath. ➡️ 🛡️ Enhanced Safety: Increases the safety of both road users and construction personnel. ➡️ ⛈️ Protected Work Environment: Workers are shielded from adverse weather conditions and can avoid working at night. ➡️ 🔇 Noise Reduction: Eliminates nighttime construction noise, providing relief to nearby residents. ➡️ 🛠️ Versatile Applications: Ideal for laying road surfaces, replacing joints, and restoring bridges. In a nutshell, the "ASTRA Bridge" is a game changer in how we approach highway maintenance, combining safety, efficiency, and innovation. 🛣️💡 For more information, click on the following link: 👇

Subdivisions and VicRoads This week we are sharing an interesting insight into obtaining statement of compliance for a subdivision project which required a new road construction as conditioned by VicRoads on a planning permit. The development required a new road intersection upgrade which involved many different surveying aspects, including drone footage of the as-built intersection prior to the final compliance being issued. It is common for VicRoads to request as-built information for any works required within their road reserve relating to a subdivision project, so it is important to understand their requirements and plan to capture this data ahead of time to ensure a fast conclusion to any outstanding permit conditions. We are seeing more and more that the subdivision process is expanding to include asset recording and other works-as-executed information by relevant authorities, so it pays to have all tools at your disposal to capture this information.
