We believe differences spark creativity. Which is exactly why we partnered with a fashion designer with California cool and Parisian flair to design a home collection. Look no further as we introduce, Schoolhouse x Clare V. Inspired by how Clare playfully layers her clothing and accessories, we wanted to design a home collection in that spirit. Together, we created a world where bold stripes, checks and animal prints live on shag wool rugs, chic sofas and plaid-weave pillows, where lighting is high-gloss and catchalls look candy-coated. This collaboration is an invitation to reimagine how you interact with your living spaces. By infusing everyday environments with the elements of fashion, we’re encouraging people to see their homes as canvases for personal expression. Paid Internship Alert 🚨 Schoolhouse is looking for a Merchandising Intern for a paid opportunity, beginning September 2024 and working through December 2024 As the Merchandising intern, you will support the team responsible for the product assortments by successfully managing the day-to-day operations that drive sales for the online store, including product sample management and digital merchandising; build product listings online, and supporting the launch of new products as well as help optimize the current shopping experience. This role will work in collaboration with our email marketing, social media, customer care and planning teams and have the potential to influence the assortment through product performance, customer feedback / trends and market knowledge. Employee Spotlight! Please meet Julia Kysar, our Senior Cost Accountant! What do you do here? I am the Senior Cost Accountant. I spend my day working on all things inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) and whatever other projects come my way. How long have you worked here? I’ve worked here for 2 years. I started in July of 2022. What is your favorite item in your home? My favorite item in my home is my Ninja blender. It’s probably one of the coolest inventions. I can shred carrots, mix cookie dough, make salsa, and puree strawberries all with one machine. What are you watching or listening to currently? I’m not currently listening to anything, but one of the most recent audio books I listened to was “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards. Tell us about a time when you turned lemons into lemonade. A time that I turned lemons into lemonade was when I begrudgingly went fishing with my husband for the first time. I learned that, unlike my hometown in MN, you can find some really pretty scenery at the lakes here in the PNW! Now I don’t mind tagging along with him as long as there will be a pretty mountain or something cool to look at when we get there What are you currently working on? Currently I’m working on the inventory transition from Pixior to GXO. Since there’s so many moving parts and manual processes, I’m working on getting all our ducks in a row for July month end. What is your favorite product? My favorite Schoolhouse product is the Popcorn Grid Coverlet. That’s the most recent purchase I’ve made and I love how it is the perfect weight for summer! It brings back memories of being a kid every time I eat one.
