Dear Colleagues, A recent publication in Medical Science Monitor sheds light on the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage in women with placenta accreta spectrum disorder (PAS). The study analyzed the outcomes of 198 women who underwent Bakri intrauterine balloon tamponade (IUBT) treatment. Results showed that accurate and timely pre-IUBT intervention and Bakri intrauterine balloon tamponade placement are critical for controlling PPH, especially in cesarean births and women with PAS. This study provides valuable insights for managing postpartum hemorrhage in high-risk maternal populations. The complete report is now available on the Medical Science Monitor webpage. | https://lnkd.in/gy8fqej8

Habituation - the ultimate tinnitus goal. Through habituation tinnitus doesn’t change, but the emotional reaction and attention to tinnitus gradually diminishes making it much easier to live with the sound. Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes to tinnitus; habituation can take approximately six months to two years to achieve. Habituation is a psychological phenomenon where the brain learns to ignore or filter out certain stimuli that are considered non-threatening or irrelevant. This does not mean that the tinnitus sound disappears or changes, but rather that the emotional and cognitive response to it diminishes. Habituation can be facilitated through various therapeutic techniques, such as white noise sound therapy, counseling, and relaxation techniques. Habituation refers to the process of reducing the negative impact and distress associated with the perception of tinnitus. This is a brilliant article well worth a read. “WHO defines empowerment as an active process of gaining knowledge, confidence, and self-determination to self-manage health and make informed decisions … in which the patient is an expert in their own condition and the health-care worker supports the patient to become an equal and active partner in managing their own care,”

As an indicator of visual function, CS can effectively and accurately reflect visual dysfunction in cataract patients. Despite the limited clinical application of CS due to the lack of unified examination standards, susceptibility to subjective influences as a psychophysics method, and the strict requirement of examiners and examination environments, the use of CS will lead to an in-depth understanding and improvement in visual function examination methods. #contrastsensitivity; #visualfunction; #age-related cataract; lens opacities classification system III Check RM800 from export@gaush.com
