💎 A pleasure to be part of the public launch of the European Diamond Capacity Hub taking place in Madrid today. It represents a significant milestone - building on actions at national, regional and global level - in the development of Diamond Open Access as a not-for-profit scholarly communication system which prioritises the values of openess, collaboration, and science as a public good. #EDCH #DiamondOpenAccess

Consortium partners recently gathered for the first time, hosted by the project coordinator, NORCE Norwegian Research Centre. Due to the highly technical nature of the scientific cooperation and the interoperability of results across different project phases, #DARWIN_NGT stands out for its cross-partner collaboration. European CaLISTA (https://lnkd.in/eCBuY4zB) COST Action: Workshop on "Quantum Groups and Lie Groups" https://lnkd.in/eHg-rJPE This conference is a part of the series of yearly meetings of WG3 of the CALISTA action. The previous meeting (Quantum Groups and Noncommutative Geometry in Prauge) was in Prague in September 2023. The main aim of WG3 is to make significant advances in the understanding of the noncommutative geometry of quantum groups homogeneous spaces through the application of ideas from parabolic geometry and representation theory of Lie groups and Lie algebras.

I'm excited to share our latest blog post titled "Archimedes Vitruvius and Leonardo: The Odometer Connection." This insightful piece explores the innovative contributions of three influential figures in history—Archimedes, Vitruvius, and Leonardo da Vinci—focusing on their connections through the invention and evolution of the odometer. Delve into the rich interplay of science and art that shaped our understanding of measurement and transportation. For those interested in historical innovation and its impact on modern technologies, this post offers valuable perspectives. Read the full article here: https://ift.tt/FGRl14f.

We had the last in-person project meeting on EASI-STRESS. What an amazing journey for the last 3 and a half years and was a very good experience too. But still have some work to do until the very end of the project :) #neutron #synchrotron #EASISTRESS #residualstress #standardization
What an amazing group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with over the last 4 years in EASI-STRESS funded by the European Commission. We have taken huge steps towards industrializing residual stress analysis using neutrons and synchrotron x-rays. We are meeting these days in Budapest at the neutron facility at HUN-REN Centre for Energy Research, going through the project achievements and making arrangements about the final task. And securing the “legacy” of the project: how do we make sure all our results, data, procedures and experiences are available for those who will pick up the gauntlet next? Special thanks to my work package leaders: Matt Roy from The University of Manchester, Ennio Capria from ESRF - The European Synchrotron, Sandra Cabeza from ILL - Institut Laue Langevin, Fabien Lefebvre from Cetim - Centre technique des industries mécaniques and Marc Thiry from Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon. And to my colleagues from Danish Technological Institute: Hanna Leemreize and Nikolaj Henriksen for supporting me as project coordinator. The work from DTI is co-financed by Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science via Performance Contact MA3.

An absolutely fantastic presentation given yesterday by Ziming Liu, lead author of the already famous "KAN: Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks" paper (https://lnkd.in/dz5jAAG5), well worth watching in full, especially if you are a physicist. #machinelearning #deeplearning #neuralnetworks #KolmogorovArnoldNetworks #physics
