🗓 Wednesday, 28 February, 11.00am to 12.00pm (AEST). Online. Join us online to learn more about how the AAF uses single-sign-on (SSO) to enable collaboration in complex research environments, for seamless and secure access to the entire national research ecosystem. One of the greatest challenges researchers, industry and the community find, is the ability to access services and data in dynamic collaborative research environments. Streamlining managed access to services, data and compute is crucial for driving collaboration, new knowledge, and industry engagement at an ever-faster pace. Featuring >> - Scott Koranda, Senior Research Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - Sarah Nisbet, Head of eResearch at Australian Access Federation (AAF) Register for the information session >> https://lnkd.in/g5zqPiqK This information session will be recorded, and the recording will be available to all registrants and the public. Please register even if you are unable to attend the session and we will share the video with you when it is available. #australianaccessfederation #NCRIS #NCRISimpact #research #digitalresearch #webinar

📣 NEW PUBLICATION ALERT 📣 The latest IRSPM conference theme was devoted to #hybridity in the public sector, which is an increasing widespread phenomenon. In this new article on Public Management Review, co-authored with Giulia Cappellaro and Raffaella Saporito, we make three important contributions to advance the field: 1. We take stock of existing knowledge on public-private hybrid organizations (HOs) and pave the way for future research. 2. We develop and offer an organizational framework to guide future studies of HOs based on common core dimensions that consider both the environment in which HOs operate and their internal functioning. 3. We disentangle the construct of HOs from that of #PPPs. HOs share with PPPs a focus on having distinctive arrangements between public and private actors and spheres of activity; however, while such arrangements are typically contractual and project based in PPPs, HOs are primarily unitary organizations that govern the relationship between public and private spheres through formal governance mechanisms. ☘️ So glad to see an article stemming from my PhD thesis published in a top-tier public management journal, looking forward to receiving your feedback! 🆓 The first 50 copies can be downloaded for free at the link below: https://lnkd.in/dqShpyQh

This is a really, really important topic and I hope a lot of association execs join this conversation. How is the public's distrust of experts affecting your members, your industry, and your association? What should your organization be doing about it? I will be moderating this panel with association chief execs whose members are being hugely affected by this trend. Register here: https://lnkd.in/e_WDpzmn And by the way, this will be a conversation, NOT a webinar. Please come and lend your voice and your perspective! #associations #expertise #trust
Join Joanna Pineda from Matrix Group International, Lindsay Currie, CAE from Council on Undergraduate Research, Matthew Hughes from World Affairs Council of America, and Tara Puckey, MBA, CAE, CMP from The Radio Television Digital News Association for a webinar Thursday July 31st! Join them for a lively discussion about the end of expertise. They will discuss: – How industries are being disrupted by the public’s lack of trust in our institutions – How associations are being affected by this same trends – How associations are modifying their services to maintain their credibility and retain members’ trust – What organizations are doing to keep their organizations safe spaces for facts, open discussion, and expertise. ✨ 💡The End of Expertise and How Associations Must Adapt ⏰ Wednesday, July 31st @ 1pm (ET) ➡️ REGISTER: https://lnkd.in/eak5Sgqu #usteducation #webinars #continuingeducation #ust

🔬 Science is crucial to help meet the challenges for sustainable development. However, evaluating quality, alignment, and contributions of Research for Development interventions with Sustainable Development Goals is not straightforward for evaluators, researchers, scientists, or funders. #EVALSDGs Insight 18 proposes a clear, structured, and comprehensive approach to evaluating this by introducing the Quality of Science evaluation criterion, and a menu of mixed methods. Think of existing and novel measures of advancement and exponential change, like Moore’s Law for computing, but across diverse industry sectors. The intersection of service innovation (ISSIP) and service system engineering (PSU) combines the notions of service innovation (e.g., defined as advances integrating (a) technologies that amplify capabilities, (b) business models that scale up benefits rapidly, and (c) institutional arrangements that scale down potential harms to underserved populations, the planet, and future generations) with service systems (e.g., defined as dynamic configurations of people, technology, organizations, and information interconnected by value propositions). In conclusion, as industry sector transformations accelerate, industrial and systems engineering departments and as well as all academic disciplines should prepare a next generation of T-shaped adaptive innovators, with depth of problem-solving skills and breadth of communication skills. Please register and join us for the first in a series of ISSIP events on the transformation of industry sectors in the AI Era (register here, all who register will receive a link to the recording, even if you cannot attend the online session live). Interested in speaking? reach out to co-chairs Jim Spohrer or Vittal Prabhu #ISSIPcommunity #serviceinnovation #industrytransformation #engineering21stcenturyservice
In collaboration with Penn State College of Engineering, ISSIP is proud to launch the 2024 Industry Transformation Event Series: Engineering the 21st Century Service Economy.
